Me lying on the grass trying to do a selfish with my 5 month, can't-stay-still Shep mix. Another gorgeous Long Beach park with its own unique vibe, a way different vibe than any other park. Caters well to young families & litte ones, dog walkers, people spending quality time alone- reading a book-on the lap top or wasting time texting away like me. The Lagoon water is best for baby & juniors to enjoy grass-side and sand-side, sunbathers & chat groups, and picnic parties &; rec activities. It gets really, I mean really, very crowded here and parking is tight but the lucious grass stretch, so inviting makes for an ideal place to just stop & lay back. Colorado Lagoon borders the marina waters and another park and is alongside a heavily traveled road leading to the marina, the beaches and Belmont Shore area. It's also great for just driving along cruising, sight seeing and even a pit-stop to take a break, power nap, walk, talk, chill or a place to eat your take-out. It's a great area for group parties and activities too. Although it's nice, it can get crowded, traffic can be heavy and parking is a commodity but the beautiful view; awesome weather, and loving life vibe is what attracts people here. I took a car ride just to take the long way home but ended up stopping, parking & getting out to sit under a shady tree and catch up on messages. Its was a post card weather day-couldn't pass it up. It's times like this that I'm grateful to enjoy the great lifestyle that Long Beach has to offer. Colorado Lagoon is a beautiful example of one of the many places to enjoy-the stuff that makes up Long Beach.

This is a wonderful place to bring kids. There are plenty of life guards and the water is very calm, but please do watch your kids regardless. It can get very crowded so please don't be like me and get there early. Also this is in the middle of a residential area so please be polite and be respectful with the residents. In addition please don't leave your trash all over the place and if you are going to drink don't bring glass bottles, as my daughter found a big piece of glass in the water.

Updated park is lovely! Great location for families. Unfortunately it can get really busy during summer season, just because it's that amazing. There is also a nice short trail to walk just across the bridge. The water is surprisingly filled with allot of sea life. Not only have we seen fish, but we've seen jellies and sting rays too! We were told the jellys are harmless, but have heard of people getting stung by rays.... so don't forget to shuffle your feet when entering water!

This is a great place for recreational purposes. Come here often to walk around the lagoon, gaze upon the aquatic life from the bridge, and during warmer months enjoy swimming and relaxing on the lagoons beach 🏖️⛱️ enjoying a picnic.

I really enjoy coming here when there aren't many people to take in the natural beauty.

They have lifeguards on duty during regular hours of the lagoon. Public restrooms are available at the south east end near the street.

Park benches, a playground for the kids, and parking are also available here.

Fishing and BBQing are prohibited 🚫 If you are ever in the area stop by and take a walk around and enjoy what the Colorado Lagoon has to...

You know, the water in LB isn’t the cleanest or prettiest, but this place has been such a life saver on hot days. It can get really crowded on weekends and hot days (tip: park across the street in the parking lot if you can, it’s free), and it’s so awesome to see people of all colors and ages here. There’s a walkway to jump off of, a path to walk, grassy areas and benches, and the calm water stays shallow for awhile so it’s easy to be in the water even if you don’t want to swim. I like it because I love being in water, but the beach has so much trash (and sting rays) that this is a great option. Sometimes I go...
