Don's Custom Cabinets & Countertops — Attraction in Longmont

I am so grateful we went with Don’s for our kitchen remodel! From design to build and everything in between they were truly amazing. Haden helped us design a kitchen beyond our best dreams. We had ideas of what we wanted but he helped us maximize functionality while listening to everything we wanted. I was impressed that they came out before our cabinetry order was placed to ensure there were no areas of interference with doors, appliances, etc. When it was discovered that the handles on some of our appliances would conflict with full door opening ability on a few cabinets, Haden came up with an excellent solution for us. I was also so impressed that the only way he was able to figure this information out was to call our appliance manufacturer and ask for detailed specs. I feel like that is something no one else would actually take the time to do! And it turned out perfectly because of that attention to detail. Kevin, our project manager, was the best. To be able to trust someone to take care of a project with such precision and timeliness was a huge relief. He was very easy to communicate with and get ahold of, which is also not something to take for granted. Our cabinetry install team of Nate and Devon were also amazing. Again their attention to detail was incredible. It’s never easy to have people in your home, but these guys were great. Very respectful and even cleaned up at the end of every day. Installing custom cabinetry is definitely an art and this team is the best of the best. I could go on, but the last detail I will share is how they came to our rescue. Sometimes you really find out how good people are when things go wrong. After the first day of cabinetry install my husband was attempting to paint and accidentally broke a support brace on one of the cabinets. It was 100% our fault, but Kevin and Nate fixed everything. They were so good about the whole thing! As you can imagine, we were pretty upset at our silly mistake. I still can’t believe that it was able to be perfectly fixed, so quickly. Not that I needed an affirmation we had made the right choice to go with Don’s, but if I did that would have been it. Overall - Absolutely impressed with the incredible work that Don's Custom Countertops did for my girlfriend and I with our kitchen countertop/bar.

Backstory - a faulty candle exploded (yes, exploded) on our laminate countertop. The wax burned a large portion of it through the laminate and into the wood. The company offered to reimburse us for the trouble, but we were in charge of finding who was going to do the repair work.

The Solution - Enter in Don and Dennis from Don's Custom Countertops. We found their information from a paper ad and were met with immediate responses, inquiries, and meetings to discuss the repair. Dennis and Don were super kind, responsive, on time, positive, and did incredible work. Though they were not the only one we worked with. When you work with this company, everyone works as a team to make sure you have an incredible experience. Credit also definitely needs to be given to the front desk associate who was always incredibly kind and helped navigate all of our interactions, meetings with repairmen, invoices, documentation for the refund from the company, everything! Their overall team is who you want to do your home improvement!

The Outcome - they were able to match the laminate (which I thought was near impossible - Don sat here for about two hours trying to find the perfect match for us), repair the countertop, and even extend it so that it is now a full bar for my girlfriend and I to use. We eat dinner there almost every night and are so impressed with the work they did. We are extremely happy!

The Extra Mile - Because of how the last countertop was installed, there was some damage to the drywall from the repair. Dennis and Don did not stop at just the countertop. They wanted to make sure that everything was perfect before they took us off their board. They contracted a drywall repairman for us to come out and fix it almost immediately. It was super impressive to see a company go the extra mile to do that and is the extra tick I needed to definitely become a spokesperson for them.

Wow. Don's is without question one of, if not the most professional, most customer centric, and most dedicated organizations I had the pleasure of doing business with in Longmont. From our initial design and choice of our new quartz countertop, to the on schedule measure and template, and especially the installation, these guys are at the top of their game. They really understand their business, and just do great work.

Unfortunately, we learned that our new granite sink was cracked on installation day - not Don's fault, it was cracked out of the shipping box from another provider. Much to our dismay it looked like we were going to be without an operational sink (no running water or drain in our kitchen... for CHRISTMAS). A very apologetic and responsive manufacturer (Kraus BTW) drop shipped a new sink to the house... and Don's found a way to wedge us into their schedule the Friday afternoon before Christmas... their last day of being open. They finished the install, and I was able to have our new kitchen up and running before our guests arrived. This wasn't Don's problem... but they sure went the extra mile to make sure that we had a kitchen for Christmas. The results are stunning... perfectly cut (no seams), beautiful OGEE edge, and expertly installed.

We are so happy with them that we are now having them see what they can do for our large, but barely functional pantries.

I am certain had we gone with one of the big box stores, we would have been high and dry over the holiday, and I doubt seriously whether the result would have been any where near as beautiful as Don's work.
