Second try of this restaurant, last time was pre-covid.
First off, it was better last time, well above average all around, front of house service, as well as the food.
This time the order took quite a bit longer than the 10 min wait time told to us, but I feel that was a shirt estimation, as a 25 minute estimation would be on time and within reason. The takeout containers, except for the soup, we're not as good. Also we didn't get utensils, but that was probably our mistake as I failed to notice them. I could have used more chili oil too as the containers have very little in each.
We ordered the beef noodle soup, veggie lo mein, and the fried dumplings.
The flavor combinations of the thinly sliced peppers, noodles, that I think we're cooked in a good stock or broth had a wonderful flavor with the egg, bok choy and other vegetables. The chili oil and soysauce even brought it up another notch, one if the best, if only the takeout boxes held a bit better, but the flavors tasted good until the noodles got cold.
The dumplings were also very good. Nothing bad to say about them, they stayed warm. The soup noodles were really cold even as we opened the box, and the soup unfortunately was cold, so I brought it home and warmed it on low heat in a small pot. After tasting it, I added a touch of chili garlic paste I had, just a touch, and enjoyed it with my partner. Unfortunately at the bottom of the bowl, I found that the soup stock must not have been filtered out so well, as entire peppercorns were in the bottom, white peppercorn but could have been a blanched green or black one. Some other powdery and bad texture gunk was left but the soup till the last bites was extremely good, especially the beef which was absolutely soft, and cooked so tender.
Last time my experience was a solid 4/5, above average, but due to these issues which I don't blame the restaurant staff for, mostly just the difficulties of them adapting to covid, it is a 3/5 average, but I will say their prices are amazing, and the food is definitely worth it at this price point as we were charged just under $29, and we added a $5 tip.
I will definatly be visiting again for their soup and lo mein and try their bibimbop next time as well. The flavors are perfect, likely from their small but amazing menu selection, this takes true talent to make this good. I am no professional in this cuisine, but I am very satisfied nonetheless.

Read moreThis new restaurant was...just ok. I ordered pork lo mein which came out with pad thai noodles. Not a big deal, just kinda weird. My wife ordered the beef noodle soup based on other reviews here. Unfortunately they dumped probably an entire package of noodles in the bowl, so by about 10 minutes in, the noodles had soaked up the entirety of the broth! This made the noodles extremely mushy, plus no broth left! Very disappointing. I might go back. Sigh, just like most places in LA, a letdown. I will say the fried dumplings we ordered were tasty.
2022 Edit: We have been here many times in the past two years, but always get takeout. And for this it's been very reliable. I still recommend the fried dumplings, as well as the egg rolls...
Read moreGreat small business.
We submitted an online order and something went wrong, they didn't have the order.
The lady helping us was very kind and got the order started right away, and we were out in a decent amount of time.
Portions are large, two meals at least for most people. We had one order that needed to be wheat free, and they had that option, understood it, and were able to make one of the meals gluten free with a minimum of hassle.
My only gripe is I think the noodles would benefit from a little more sauce, but that's a small thing, and often you have something in your fridge that does the job.
Great place if you want what they're serving. ...
