I’ve been going here for 5 years to help me with chronic pain and always mentioned this place to people. A week ago, an employee there in charge of the women’s side made me uncomfortable the whole time there. I was there the last 2 hours and everywhere I went she followed me to clean making me feel like she wanted me to leave and where I couldn’t fully relax.. I go to the beds to lay down and she goes in there and starts spraying each beds down then tilting them to the side for the water to rush off… and did that up to the one right next to me where the water rushed to my feet… it was rude. Four times she interrupted me to ask if something was mine including when she came up to me when I was in the shower in the middle of rinsing myself down and it surprised me and made me uncomfortable. I told her no it wasn’t mine every time. She told me around 7:10 I had 10 min left when they close at 8.. and when I went to the lockers to change she followed me in there and checked and slammed each locker loud down the row til mine. AND when I went to leave she had the lights off on the mirror side where it was a hazard and couldn’t see anything. It was so inappropriate. All this was before 8pm… I was out before 8pm and asked to leave a note for the manager. Today I get a call from the manager thinking it was to address my complaint but tells me that I was rude to the employee???? I never said anything to the employee except no when she asked me multiple times if something was mine. I believe my complaint was thrown away and the employee is saying I was rude to her to save her job. So from a false accusation by the employee…IM no longer allowed to go there????? I am so offended and upset. As a loyal customer I have never once been rude to an employee, and even more shocked this current employee made something up that effects my routine of pain management when she knows she’s in the wrong. I have never had this happen before, been falsely accused by a manager who never called back from my original complaint I wrote, and banned from the hot spring from the owner who again had no idea of the inappropriate behavior by his/her employee. Side note: the place has gone down hill water about 3 ft wide was trickling down fast from upstairs down in the changing room… have seen that happen on and off a year and saw it again last time there.. so wouldn’t doubt there’s mold in the walls from it. Things are old, showers are gross, cheap plastic chairs in the hot spring side, it’s not as clean, and overall have seen this place fall apart over the last 5 years. I’ve heard on the men’s side from my friends that would go, there are always men up there checking other men out and making advances that make them uncomfortable.. and it keeps happening. Before Covid it was $35 for 3 hrs to use the hot spring, now it’s $45 for 2 hrs and $50 on Sundays… keeps getting more of a rip off. The only reason I kept going was for the Hot Spring.. the rest is not...
Read moreWhile my experience at Beverly Hot Springs was in some ways positive, there were some aspects of my visit that I found challenging and wanted to bring to your attention.
Firstly, I want to commend the facility for its beautiful amenities and the warm welcome I received from the staff. The hot spring pool, cold plunge, steam room, sauna, and relaxation area were all clean, well-maintained, and contributed to a pleasant experience overall.
However, I want to address some concerns regarding the massages my sister and I received. Both of our therapists were kind and hard-working, but there were some issues that affected the quality of our experience. My sister's therapist appeared over-worked or tired, as she fell asleep multiple times during the massage. This interrupted the session and made it difficult for my sister to fully relax, especially when the therapist would wake up abruptly and resume with increased vigor once she'd realized she had fallen asleep.
Similarly, I encountered challenges during my massage with a therapist who did not speak English. While language barriers are usually not an issue for me, and I attempted to find other ways to communicate with universal comments such as "OUCH!" and hand-gestures, repeatedly asking for a softer massage, it was to no avail. I actually prefer a harder massage but this time I felt like I was being beat-up during the entire massage, and despite my efforts to communicate my discomfort, I felt uncomfortable and tense throughout the session, which detracted from the relaxation experience I had hoped to have.
I believe there are opportunities for improvement in the training and scheduling of massage therapists, especially given the prices that they charge. Providing adequate breaks between sessions could ensure that therapists are well-rested and able to perform at their best. Additionally, emphasizing the importance of listening to guest feedback and adjusting the massage technique accordingly would greatly enhance the overall customer experience and better ensure that guests would return.
I want to emphasize that my intention in providing this feedback is to help the day spa identify areas for improvement and deliver exceptional service to its guests. I appreciate the efforts of the therapists and the staff, and I hope that my comments will be taken constructively to facilitate positive changes. Thank you for considering...
Read moreThis spa has been around for a very long time. I used to go here, regularly, 20 years ago. I try a lot of different spas. In the past year, I've been to the Langham, the W, the Sofitel & the Loews Hollywood spas. Those are very calm and peaceful and luxurious. If that's what you're looking for this is not that spa. This spa is definitely no frills.
You're brought into a locker room that looks like your high school gym. There are benches, also very much like high School. No fruit spa water but a filter machine. There is some minor construction going on currently this being January 2019. But I did not find it annoying or intrusive in any way. Not visually appealing The place is due for an update.
Spa is clothing optional and I was the only one in a bathing suit. It is female and male segregated spa. On the website they said something about a eucalyptus room & I remember clearly they're being fresh eucalyptus years ago. I went into the Sauna, no eucalyptus as well as in the steam room. So that was disappointing.
There is a large hot spring pool outside the locker room adjacent to the steam and the sauna. The pool is really hot and very relaxing. Even though it is a natural spring it didn't have that heavy sulfur odor. There are a few jacuzzi like Jets but most of them were not operational. I soaked and that was great because it really prepared me for the very vigorous massage that I received. There is a cold dipping pool. But I found it too icy for me. But many women availed themselves of the hot springs and the cold pool.
My masseuse took me for my BODY CARE massage. You enter a shower like room that the tables are separated by a shower curtain only. And it is not Low lit. However, the massage is great. all that tension and pain I felt dissipated. My skin, because of the use of different oils and cucumber and honey, my skin looked spectacular. I even had my hair washed and scalp massage which was quite a surprise. It was truly a full body massage.
I really do like the place and I will go back. I'm being very specific that this is not a luxury spa. Yet it is a spa that gets the job done and I think is reasonably priced. There is a...
