First I would like to say that this is not a review about Bikram Yoga. It is a review of Christie, one of the teachers, who apparently has lost sight of what it was like to be young at some point, and whose rudeness is unforgivable! If Bikram is good for the soul, Christie needs to do some further research! My Grandchild and one of her friends were allowed to sign up for a series of classes, an oversight by Charm, one of the other teachers, and Myself as neither of them were ready for a class of this intensity. Nevertheless they attempted to follow through, but during one class one of the Children was about to pass out and had to leave the class early. When we arrived next week, Christie was all ready chewing out one girl and then rudely shouted to myself and others waiting for the class, "These girls are not Bikram material!" End of story on her part. So Christie, I ask you, who made you the Guru of Bikram protocall? I can think of a hand full of ways that this could have been handled amicably, but if you were a Teacher in my school, you would be looking for work in another town by now! Parents and Grandparents, please beware. This class in not for children who have not had Yoga experience. Look elsewhere, and avoid Christie...
Read moreNew to Bikram yoga and this studio but have done many yoga classes. The studio did not smell fresh which I could understand because of the heat but my main issue was with the instructor. I did not catch his name, tall white guy with both nipples pierced. He came off very snooty and sarcastic, but that wasn't my complaint. He spoke so fast that it was impossible for a new student to contemplate what he was saying. At some point you look at the person in front of you to have an idea what position you are suppose to be in. After a long week of work you want to hear a slow soothing voice guiding you through the positions. I couldn't take it anymore and 20 mins into it I had to leave. Of course with his continues sarcasm he had to throw an extra comment as I was leaving, "that this is a lot harder than the gym". Obviously, I will...
Read moreAbsolutely abhorrent instructor- Danny. Pushed me into poses without my consent and in ways that my body could not handle (I have EDS and try to be careful with my how far I push stretches). He kept calling me out by name with very loud, abrasive corrections like - "if you find yourself coming back to a spread eagle position you need to rethink your mindset" or "you keep ending up on your right when I say left...just do. stop thinking"(I am directionally challenged). Dear Lord, I felt like I was in a martial arts class not a yoga session. It was very unsafe. It also literally stank when I stepped through the front doors. NAMASTA-AWAY from this place...I started going to the corepower yoga across the street! SO...
