I've been a loyal customer at Paris Baguette on Ventura in Encino for quite some time, and it used to be one of my go-to places for delicious pastries and cakes for various occasions. However, my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing.
In the past, I've ordered catering from them multiple times for big family events and birthdays, and it was always a hit. However, the last two orders were complete mess-ups. During the first order, which I had placed online days before my event, they forgot to include one of the salads I had ordered. When I approached the server about the missing item and sought a solution, the manager's unprofessional behavior was quite disheartening. Instead of offering an alternative or resolving the issue, he simply refunded the money for the missing salad, leaving me with an incomplete order and no other options.
The second time around was equally frustrating. I had placed a catering order for my open house event, and the server's attitude was incredibly rude. Not only was the order not ready on time, as it had been in the past, but they also seemed disinterested in accommodating my preferences for the order. Their lack of willingness to help left me feeling undervalued as a customer.
Considering the prices at Paris Baguette are not cheap, I expected a much higher level of service and professionalism. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have left me with no desire to recommend this place as a reliable catering option for any event. The quality of service has significantly declined, and it's disheartening that attempting to reach a supervisor to address these issues has been impossible.
In conclusion, I'm deeply disappointed with the recent decline in service at Paris Baguette on Ventura in Encino. I hope they address these issues and restore the quality of their service to regain the trust of their loyal customers. As of now, I cannot recommend this place for catering, and I will be exploring other options for my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChocolate chiffon cake! Yep. Exquisite! This is the only place I know of that makes 3 different chiffon cakes. Green Tea, Blueberry, and Chocolate. (They also have other types of cake available as well as selling some by the slice) Just what IS a chiffon cake, you may ask? Well, it's my mom's favorite type of cake and she used to make them herself, but these days I take them to her š. They are tall, light, moist unique types of cakes that are not too filling. An elegant cake Taller than a sponge cake, similar to an angel food cake in height (you use about 7-8 eggs for this cake), though a totally different taste and texture. You can frost them, or drizzle glaze on top so that it runs down the sides, or sprinkle with powdered sugar! They use fresh cream frosting on theirs. So good!
If Paris Baguette did nothing else right but offer these cakes, I'd still go in š but upon exploration you will find other Parisian-inspired bakery items such as a variety of croissants. The almond ones are delicious. Additionally they have very good coffee and espresso offerings including cold brew (my fav) and a pretty good (sweet) house iced coffee. They seem to offer up a few sandwiches and maybe a salad or two as well, though they look premade and I have not tried them. For me, the lure of this place are the items I can't get elsewhereš
Seating, family style, is available, with a couple small tables out front on their small balcony area.
Parking is in the same lot as Michael's and Pieology, at the Encino Town Center. South side of Ventura Blvd, just east of Louise Ave. Free. Can be crowded. At certain times of day there is also metered parking right in front on Ventura Blvd. They are open @...

Let me start by saying Iāve had good moments at this location before. Iām not here to drag the whole cafĆ©āIām here to talk about one experience that was unacceptable, and one manager who made it worse.
I came in with a group of five. My friend and I (the first two to order) stepped asideāas any respectful customer wouldāto wait for our drinks and let the rest of our group order without clogging the line.
Thatās when Nicoleāa managerāwalked up to us with an attitude and said:
āExcuse me, you guys walked away without paying. You know you still need to pay, right?ā
Not only was this untrue (our group was still at the counter ordering), but the tone? Accusatory. Rude. Embarrassing. And clearly grounded in judgment based on appearances.
Letās be honest: My friend has long hair and gives āstonerā vibes. I was in makeup, not a designer tracksuit. We didnāt ālookā like her usual clientele, and that became obvious very quickly.
When I pointed out that my group was still at the register, she backpedaled fast. I asked for an apologyāshe gave me a half-hearted one and couldnāt even look me in the eyes.
I brought it up to her co-manager, who thankfully listened and handled it professionally. But stillāNicole was the problem, and I said Iād write this review, so here we are.
Two stars because Iāve had good drinks and pastries here. But Nicole? Worst manager energy Iāve ever encountered. Her tone was not only out of lineāit was laced with assumptions. And assumptions like that donāt belong in any service...
