I came to Cienega Med Spa before my wedding and met with Abigail and would highly not recommend the experience to others.
My experience is detailed below:
Making an appointment was easy and they quickly gave me a room. Abigail, however, was 15 minutes late with no communication. I thought they forgot about me as I was just sitting in the room alone aimlessly. Once she did arrive, I initially got a great vibe from her; she’s knowledgeable, kind, and funny.
I verbalized that I definitely wanted botox and to discuss and educate about fillers. She discussed topics thoroughly and answered all questions in a helpful manner. Upon completion of her assessment, she recommended 36 units of botox and to do fillers a different day. I explained that the most Botox I have ever done is 22 units and there is no way I’m about to do 36 units before my big day. I do not want to appear frozen for my wedding, I just want to look refreshed and have movement in the eyebrows. She kept pushing and pushing that I must get my chin done and must do my eyebrows, etc. It felt like she was refusing to take no for an answer.
The next 10 minutes felt like a back and forth uncomfortable negotiation of her trying to sell me on more units. She was simply not taking no for an answer, it was so pushy. After finally giving up and agreeing to 26 units, she exited the room and a gentleman came in telling me I needed to pay prior to services rendered.
I’m newer to LA so I’m not sure if this is a common practice in this city but I was completely astonished that they would ask such a thing. It made me feel like a criminal as though I would ever even consider walking out on them unpaid. I’ve gotten Botox many times in the past in various cities and this has never been my experience. You always pay after the service!
Anyways, I paid and the service was about to be provided. I’m awful with needles and shared this piece of vital information with Abigail. Most nurses when told this, typically jump into high gear knowing that their patient can faint on them and it is a medical and safety concern. It is common to be given ice, water, or sugar (sweets), and to be watched for additional time post-injection. Instead, she scoffed when I asked her for water or an ice pack in preparation. When she was done she simply walked out of the room and wished me a good day telling me she was leaving the door open in case I needed something from the front desk staff. This was the icing on the cake for me. In the medical world, when someone tells you that they struggle with needles you must take them seriously! I have encountered nursing students that took this bit of information more seriously than Abigail did. If I faint, do you really think the front desk staff would hear me or even know what to medically do?
As if all of this wasn’t enough, guess what? My entire eyebrow and forehead region was dead frozen, losing my ability to show emotion for my wedding. Exactly what I pleaded with her multiple times to not happen.
I must reiterate that I would highly not recommend Cienega Med...
Read more04/14/2021 Updating this post makes me think how someone can drag that long an easy issue and move on, it has been a series of back-and-forth emails with owner and phone calls with an appointed “issues to resolve staff” without any results. Last communication with the owner was at the beginning of April, “HI Eddie. I have to go through our doctor for this request” inexplicable reason, two emails later, not reply, silence…the request from my side was that I was no longer interested in returning to get the same procedure asked back in December 2020 with same technician or anyone else, not, definitely I will not go through the same problem, is my face and my money we are talking about here. She's asking me to wait, wait for what? A Doctor that never saw me to begin with it? Really? If the technician has not state on her reports that I asked for Cannulas, is out of my control, that is what I have been having for the past ten years, and she did something weird that I have never done with my eyes. One start is too much on this review, sorry, I will go back to Sunset Blvd. with my Doctor, and by the way, a lot of unsatisfied clients are contacting me internally, I am not the only one here.
We recently move to Los Angeles from Europe. I’ve tried two other VIP skin clinics here in West Hollywood with mixed end results. CMS was next in my list for Botox and Fillers. So far, Botox is Ok. Fillers have been an unusual challenge, one side of my face is a bit puffier than the other, the issue have been the fillers that helps to reduce my under eyes lines and bags, In the past this problem was addressed with a specific cannula that fill-in and corrects it. I went back to CMS to have this procedure and correct the previous one, which it was three little bumps created by a small filler injected on both sides of my eyes. However, instead of the requested Cannulas, I was offered Ulthera Treatment, now I will have to wait for 3 months to see any improvement. 03/11/21 update, under eyes looks the same, now is 3 more months to wait and someone is supposed to call me to talk about it, and I was informed that they were busy. I want to trust CMS... Staff is welcoming, they have a variety of services, perhaps pricey for some. I will keep this post...
Read moreI went in for a facial, Botox and filler under my eyes. Trying to youthen up after turning 29 lol. Checked in with reception which was pretty easy. There was a new girl being trained at the front which was gorgeous btw, was in shock by how pretty that girl was! Wish the waiver process was more efficient. I had to fill my name address etc onto 3 different forms on an iPad. IT SUCKED. Went in to meet the nicest nurse ever MARY who was also drop dead gorgeous. She explained it wasn’t a good idea to do all treatments in the same day so I settled for Botox & filler and rescheduled the facial. She took me to the room where we would be doing the procedure and the doctor came in to clear me. She was also drop dead gorgeous like whaaaat is going on there lol! All beautiful kick a*% staff. My nurse came back and started the treatments. It was absolutely painless. She really knew her job and had all the tricks up her sleeve to make it an even better experience. I am beyond happy with my results. It was definitely the confidence booster I needed. I ended up upgrading my facial to the vampire facial that was suggested and I cannnnnooot wait to go back for it. I highly recommend this place. I left there with a hug from nurse Mary. She was honestly the best. The only thing I wish was done differently was the way I paid. I was taken to the back by nurse Mary for my consult then brought to the room for the fillers/Botox. While waiting I was asked by reception to come back out and pay which I thought was fairly odd especially since I saw a few other customers pay as they left. The atm machine prompted for a tip which was an inappropriate time to do so before services. I asked if I could do so after and they said yes. But after all was said & done I forgot to do so since I already paid & that’s unfortunate bc I would have tipped her well for the amazing job and customer service I received from Mary. I was a bit offended at the time but my whole experience was turned around by Mary & I can’t wait to go back & see her for...
