I can't believe the experience I had tonight going to this bar. I don't write many reviews honestly but I had to tonight after what I experienced. My friend and myself went to this bar after dinner to have a few drinks, this bar was right down the street from the restaurant we went to (crossroads vegan food) I honestly feel like crying after what happened tonight. Although it wasn't all so bad, When we got to the door to go inside around 9:15pm on 1/13/2023 the security guard at the door was so sweet, and I appreciate that, he welcome us in and was very kind. Once we went inside we saw 3 males bartenders, two tall slim guys and one shorter stubby guy who's name was Danny I believe. I got his name from their bartender manager, who worked that night. Once we got to the bar one of the taller bartenders gave us a menu to look over the drinks, it was pretty busy he went to help another person while we was looking over it, he was nice. Once we figure out what we wanted we saw Danny the shorter stubby guy. We called him over to order drinks, but as he looked at us we can tell it was so much hate towards us just by the way he looked at us. Also to mention we were the only two black women (people) in this bar. We noticed that once we walked in but didn't mind because we party with everyone and don't care about race, we love everyone of All colors. Danny came over to us with so much hate, we told him what we wanted he kept walking away he gave us dirty looks and had an attitude the entire time. Once we were finally able to order our drinks from him He gave us our drinks threw them down at us, spilled our drinks, over and threw our napkins at us and walked away and ignored us the entire time until we paid. Then Two white women walked up on the side of us and his entire demeanor changed, he walk right past us leaving the bar, ignored us as if we didn't exist and went up to the two girls, to help them instead and was very sweet to them, even gave their drinks for free, he was talking and helping them. We couldn't believe it, how rude he was towards us. Also, it was obvious he was letting it be known to us the way he was treating us. Like as if he was doing it on purpose. He had so much hate for no reason and we were kind to him. About 10 mins later a guy with a black suit walk up I went to talk to him he said he was the manager I explained to him what happened to us, and told him what happened tonight was not acceptable It was very degrading. We came to have a good time like everyone else. It's shouldn't matter what color we are when we're all just human. I hope they talk to this guy and give him a wake up call. It was very disgusting what we experienced tonight and something should be done. We can tell the guy Danny didn't want us there. You don't know who I know to get this information all over the world. This could turn out really bad for this business. This was the worst experience I've ever experienced at a bar. It's so sad that people are like this and treat you a bad way because the color of your skin. We need to stop focusing on race and focus on loving one another. Showing love and giving love. Life is too short to dislike a person because the color of their skin. I will be contacting, higher management, something needs to be done about this. If anyone would like to contact me regarding this please email me at Torivp299@gmail.com this information needs to get out for the world to see! I have a big TikTok following the...
Read moreThe Roger Room is, was, and probably will remain the basis upon which most of these Johnny-come-lately mixology bars have stolen not only their menus, but also staff. I have been coming to this bar and this building for years, dating back to when it was called The Coronet Pub.
Considering The Roger Room is supposed to be a speakeasy, I suppose its location is only fitting. Planted across the street from a seedy strip club and along the main drag for ambulances wailing their way back to Cedar Sinai, there's always something to draw your attention as you smoke your cancer stick. There's also the Largo Theater next door that low key draws some big names an often an eclectic crowd of nerd chics and fanboy obsessives.
The Roger Room is not as illustrious as it once was (there was a no flash photography rule if that's any indicator of the clientele), but now it's mostly tourists from the Sofitel, off-duty strippers from across the street, and early-term couples. I still come from time-to-time. If there's one thing that has not changed about the place, it's the quality of cocktail. I definitely recommend, just don't...
Read moreThis has been my favorite bar for i DON’T even know how long. Dare I say 8 years probably ... lol. I love the laid back atmosphere and the sophisticated vibe it has going on. The dim lights and then more intimate setting is way more my style then a noisy pub style place or Hollywood club. If your looking for a locals favorite bar that’s laid back and has some of the best cocktails in Los Angeles then your going to the right place! They serve strictly cocktails though so no food here or bar snacks sadly but the drinks make up for it 100 percent! Bruce a good friend of mine has worked there for a very long time and he’s the man! Tell him I said hello if you stop by. ;) This place will always be my go to spot and my drink of choice “THE THUG” for sure! They’ve got some super cute and girly hello kitty drinks too that they make with whisky. Pretty delicious also. Have a drink for me!...
