451 N Hill St. 4th of July flag-raisings here are the best. 1847 is re-created with period costumed men (& women) and black powder muskets, and sometimes a cannon that sounds a few loud booms. 10 a.m. on the 4th of July, unless it falls on a Sunday. They re-enact the original ceremony of 1847 that named the fort that stood here for years. Facebook has an event page hosted by the Fort Moore Memorial Committee.
