Chinatown Public Library — Attraction in Los Angeles

this place is insane ! I brought my two little kids there to look at books and relax for a bit on a Sat afternoon. On the steps outside leading up to the library, sadly there were 3 mentally ill homeless people screaming hysterically at each other ... once we braved this chaos and we made it inside, the smell of urine overwhelmed us in the entrance hall. We shrugged it off and continued inside only too find the entire library was filled with homeless people .. some where just sleeping at the tables, some were eating secret sandwiches and giggling at the computers, and one had dirty bags of whoknkows what on the tables ... one guy even had his needles on the table NO BIGGY. Im compassionate to homelessness and the HUGE problem in LA but this is no longer a safe or even SANITARY place for families .. it's actually so sad. LA you need to do better :((. Great classes on Tuesdays for learning Mandarin year around. Best selection of Chinese books. Love their Chinese books on CD and learning Chinese materials. If you reserve a book from any LA city library u get a fine if u don't pick it up . Parking is limited so you may want to give yourself some time to wait if needed. They have a program for kids. If a kid reads with library volunteer they get a free nice new book after reading with them after a few visits. There are also computers available. No need to sign up. Just walk up and type in library card number and pass. Only computers with blue sign on top...

I was racially discriminated again just because I am white hispanic, the black supervisor declined my library card application and I overheard the black supervisor telling the other employees including the black security guard to condone and to co-sign her story as a defense to protect her story versus mines, this is an outrage ,I am notifying my congressmen about this act of bias and prejudice...
