Hideko Spa — Attraction in Los Angeles

Clean establishment, but the couples massage was disappointing. Why would you fill out a form asking for them to focus on an area for the massage therapist to completely ignore it? First of all she crawled on my back on all of her fours full bodyweight, her knees digging into my hamstrings while she dug her elbows into my back. Besides the very strange and lazy technique, She also didn’t focus on the area I specified at all- I even asked during the massage verbally if she could work on the area and I was completely ignored (or misunderstood?) I left a 20% tip because I’m nice, but now looking back paying $200 a person for the services it was not worth it. I get the cake and tea are part of the cost, but it feels more like an embellishment to counter the poor spa services that you are actually coming for. The foot scrub lasted three minutes and I could have done that myself. I would have preferred to spend that money on a properly licensed massage therapist that knew what...

What a gem! I called last minute with a few hours to kill after a grueling work schedule and before a red eye flight and they squeezed me in. The minute you walk in you are transported. A soft spoken hostess greets you warmly as the tension starts to wane. The spa is comprised of a row of 4 massage rooms with sliding bamboo doors that remind me of a Japanese tea house. Classical piano softly plays throughout. I got a delicious foot bath massage followed by a 70 minute massage that was equally soothing and therapeutic. The petite masseuse had the strongest hands and used her whole body to relieve my tight muscles. After aw I slipped into a deep sleep and awoke feeling relaxed. WOW!!!! Hideko Spa delivered and more-so! Once you walk through the unassuming exterior you will be transported to a slice of Japanese heaven. The team are incredibly gracious and kind and the attention to detail plays out through the entire experience. I got the one hour express with the addition of cupping, which provided the perfect combination or revitalization and relaxation. My husband and I have both felt feeling completely blissed out and we can not wait to come back again. Hands down the best spa in LA and extremely amazing value for money.
