This park needs attention from LA city parks and recreation. Homeless encampment near baseball field promoting public drinking and human intoxication visible to the kids during youth sports events. Public restrooms out of order over two months and the city has done nothing to fix it. Second restroom, only one available, was closed last night due to unsanitary conditions, human feces all over the floor making this unavailable to all families with kids. Onsite office clerk has no resources, or at least I was told that, to get an emergency janitorial or maintenance crew onsite to fix this. As a community parent who brings kids to play almost every day, this is unacceptable from LA city PARKS AND RECREATION. unfortunately this is the closest park to us but highly considering not returning after this current season in youth sports. Don't want to leave without bringing this to whoever reads this, attention. We understand the Homeless issues in LA but there has to be something this park can do as other parks in nearby locations manage to get this under control. On the open area, closer to the freeway wall, multiple groups of people often drink alcohol without a care and often smoke cigarettes and other substances. LAPD does come by but only to ask these groups to dispose of their drinks without completely removing them from the park. Hate to be that person to bring this up here but someone has to do it for the sake of the kids and families that often come here. Hope the park gets the...

Usually not that dangerous during the day (besides early morning), but be aware of what's going on around you. Obviously most parks in L.A. are dangerous after-hours and early in the morning up to let's say 9:00 am when there're more people around. I've been visiting this park since the mid or early 1980s. My neighborhood park as a kid and teen, and still my neighborhood park. The park's area was greatly expanded in the year 2001, after the city bought a home or two and an apartment building or two which were adjacent to the former border of the park, and demolished them. That's old school knowledge. Used to smoke weed here with my friends, and drink alcohol - containing beverages. Among other things. Actually I still sometimes smoke weed and drink alcohol-containing beverages here. Don't...
