I arrived at the hostel at 3.50 pm and my bed was not ready.
I did not receive any links on arrival so I did not know about the process. This is a malfunction self service! I called the number posted on the site and
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I asked the man to provide me with Instructions to get into the house he replied « I am driving so just check your email » Issues: I didn’t have wifi
I called back and stated that this was a poor customer service experience for me as a guest and he should at least suggest that he would pull over to give me the instructions…. He just hanged up on my face. I texted him back to get the instructions… and I then received them BEDBUGS At night my skin was scratching…. The next day i noticed bed bugs all over the bed. Issues- there is no mattress protector NOISE I was at the Lower level and the bed above is made with plywood so every time the person above me moves , you hear cracking- very annoying sound You can hear all noises of people using kitchen located on the 2 nde floor) from the bedroom located on the 3 rd floor
3.QUALITY
Rooms are not well isolated and the quality in the construction is poor ! The outside tiles gaps are too wide and I almost trip on them as the fake grass is not aligned properly and it is installed too low Overall I will not come back….. the bedbugs

Read moreI'm a long-term tenant. Don't believe the other review responses from management. They have NOT addressed the bed bug issues or taken any steps toward eliminating the problem. They are perfectly fine with letting their guests get chewed up until they leave and good luck getting a refund. Very disappointed.
The cleaning staff are great and have written their reports, but from what I can tell are treated poorly like the rest of the guests.
Normandie might look pretty on the outside, but it is clear the owners/management DOES NOT care about the health and safety of their guests.

I have tried to contact the helpline multiple times and have been ignored. I have requested a refund for the week I had to sleep on the floor or outside on my hammock and have received no response. I continue to stay because I booked 2 weeks at a time. It should not be up to the guest to have to breathe down management's backs for them to take action. Their response should be taken with a grain of salt.
I have multiple witnesses who would be happy to corroborate the issues I've laid out above.

Read moreNot only is the nightmare hellish and quite away from mainland Hollywood and the surrounding city commute area, this place is super confusing to find. Traveling here in the dark by bus? Good luck! I've missed it three times in a row just because it's so easy to drive past.
Then, my booking was apparently past by one night. As any courteous and professional business person would, the owner should have let me stay one night at this accommodation. Instead, he found me shivering on a patio bench I fell asleep in since I was not able to figure out checking in at midnight with a numerical padlock on the doors of this hostel institution. He said me not arriving on time was not a liability of the hostel and I was no longer allowed to sleep on the premises after the night of having slept on a bench, and proceeded to say no refunds will be considered, then started to walk away, as if he was doing me some sort of favor.
What a bizarre way to respond to such a harrowing checkin experience in the first place. I do not recommend and I am never coming back here. $50 for a shared bunk bed build on wooden tree house looking pods is not the budget friendly option this place...
