Review of Holy Cross Delivery Center – Extremely Disappointing Experience Our experience at Holy Cross Delivery Center was nothing short of frustrating and unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the facility was poorly maintained and the staff was indifferent to patient needs. First and foremost, the cleanliness of the facility was appalling. The air vents were visibly full of dust, which I have pictures to prove. This raises serious concerns about the overall hygiene and air quality in a place where cleanliness should be a top priority. The staff was completely inattentive. My wife was left unattended for hours, despite the expectation that nurses should check on patients regularly. When we inquired about the nurse-to-patient ratio, we were told it was one nurse for eight patients, which was evident in the lack of care provided. Pain management was a nightmare. My wife was left in pain for an unreasonably long time, despite multiple requests for pain medication. It was as if our concerns were falling on deaf ears. No urgency, no empathy—just complete disregard for a laboring mother in distress. Additionally, the room conditions were unacceptable. We requested a slight temperature increase for comfort, only to find out that the temperature control was broken and completely useless. The room remained the same temperature the entire time, with staff making no effort to accommodate us. Overall, the experience was subpar, neglectful, and outright disappointing. Holy Cross Delivery Center failed at providing even the most basic level of care and comfort. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values quality medical attention, cleanliness, or compassion. If you're considering delivering here, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere.

I got an emergency c-section, and all the staff were incredible. I am going to start from Labour and Delivery staff, thank you for taking care of me and for treated me with compassion, shout out to the nurse CARLA, she took the time to chat with me and help me with the lactation part even though that was not part of her work. I am quite grateful for all the nurses actually, because during my 5 days at the hospital I felt well took care of. Thank you for the staff from the program “Welcome Baby” their time and help. Another thankful for the Chaplin , who prayed the day of the surgery and also look for me at the NICU , to see how I was doing . Another 5 stars to the lactation team , the 3 members of the staff , were really thoughtful, professional and compassionate with me. They took the time to teach me the hand expression and help me with my very first breast milk. Thank you girls, also for the lessons with the breast pump. My daily supply is getting better everyday . And finally and not least important a big shout out to the NICU’s staff , I really don’t have enough words of gratitude to the Neonatologists “Dr Kolber, Dr. Agu, Dr. Wang , and the nurses staff “Jennifer, Coral, Sandy, Anahit, Loridee, Amber, Arianna, Marko, and the respiratory team , Enzi . All you guys are taking care of my baby with caring and the best professionalism. Always going to be so thankful for it.

What a great hospital. I had to bring my father. because he's suffering from cancer and needs emergency surgery on his spine as soon as we admitted him the staff took so much care of him. He had a tumor pushing up against his spine and was causing so much pain and making his blood pressure go extremely high. They finally gave him morphine for the pain n his vitals got under control. Shannon one of the nurses is so sweet. She took care of my dad as he was her own. Dr.spooler is an amazing surgery doctor. The surgery went well. My dad has terminal cancer so this surgery was so he doesn't have more pain in the spine n from him becoming paralyzed. We started a gofundme if you would like to donate for my dad. Thank you to everyone at Holycross for going above and beyond for my father's health 🙏

Let me start off by saying they were amazing. We were here for Labor & Delivery, followed by NICU. If you don’t have time to read, just know L&D & NICU here are amazing. They treat your family like their own.

Now, Here’s the short story. It was a regular Friday, my fiancĂ© & I went for the routine pregnancy check up at our clinic. The nurses were alarmed and sent us to the ER then and there. So off to holy cross we go!

We go to the ER, they have my fiancĂ© waiting for only about 20ish minutes. They weren’t too busy mid afternoon that day. Anyways, they bring her in and she texts me that they’re going to hospitalize her, she’s high risk. I say what the heck lol it was just supposed to be a normal routine check up.

Point is, my fiancé ended up being diagnosed with Preeclampsia. Her blood pressure was through the roof, heart attack levels. Mind you she was 7 Months pregnant.

So they hospitalize her, and a few hours later they tell me I’m okay to come into her room. So I go into L&D and we start talking, then DR.Yashapour comes into the room. He explained preeclampsia in depth, and told us she’d be most likely staying until labor. Reminding you were healthy 22 year olds, her blood pressure shouldn’t be hovering a constant 180.

Here’s why I say I like this place. We stayed here all in all for about 2 weeks. For about a week, then she had her C Section. Then we stayed for the healing process.

The nurses were amazing, always punctual on my fiancé’s meds, prenatals, breakfast lunch & dinner. Aside that, they kept her entertained. That was awesome. Especially after the surgery, when I’d leave for work I’d feel bad leaving her alone.

Alright, we’re coming close to the ending now. After/during the surgery, NICU banded my daughter & yours truly. (PS Evee just turned 2 months, she was supposed to be due for birth 3 days ago Lol. ) Anyways we were banded right, then we’re walking down to NICU. They teach me the procedures of how to visit my daughter. It’s nice and secure, a bunch of steps. Gives you the peace of mind really.

From April 13th to May 17th my little one was in the hands of the NICU nurses & Doctors. At first we were stressed out, mainly because we’re first time parents, My fiancĂ© couldn’t drive for 6 weeks and I had a business to run throughout the day. But of course you make things happen, you close earlier, and we’d go every single evening at first. Then after a couple of days you start planning accordingly. I was able to drop my fiancĂ© off 2-3 times a day, and I’d stop by every single night.

But mind you, after the first couple of days we already knew the nurses were going to be amazing. They have state of the art equipment, and they’re on top of things. I mainly met the night nurses, which were AWESOME. If you’re reading this and remember little Evee, she & we say thank you for everything. đŸ€

Never hesitate to trust providence Holy Cross. They treated us amazingly, made friends with the security guards, nurses, doctors, janitors, cafeteria people etc.

They truly care about you and give your family...

My mother Angelina was hospitalized on Dec 22 for almost a month. She was at neuro tele, transferred to stepdown then to med tele. I am writing this to commend the special nurses who gave above and beyond care for my mother. To say that it was a difficult time for the family is an understatement. We prayed fervently for our mother’s healing despite the odds against her- her age, several comorbidities, in a at capacity hospital in the epicenter of the pandemic. Connie RN (stepdown) is one of the nurses that my mother and the rest of the family will forever be grateful to for the outstanding care she provided. We would FaceTime with my mother every afternoon and whenever she was my mother’s nurse you can see such difference in my mother’s presentation. My mother was very sick but you could see her eyes are just a bit brighter, she has more energy, she is more awake, smiling, more taken cared of. She has been home for almost three weeks but she still talks about Connie- as sick as she was she remembers how Connie took great care of her. It was such a reassurance to the whole family knowing she was my mother’s nurse; helped take the edge off the anxiety and fear. I am an ER nurse and other family members are nurses too- which made us appreciate Connie even more, knowing how busy it is in an overflowing hospital with really sick patients- my mother got the best care possible. Along with Jessica RT they were able to successfully titrate down my mother’s oxygen needs and made discharge home possible. For that we will forever be thankful to them. Another nurse who also provided excellent care for my mother and more importantly advocated for my mother’s discharge to home is Viverly (med tele). Viverly was very warm both to my mother and to the family everytime we call for an update. Connie and Viverly, we always prayed for skilled, caring and patient caregivers for my mother and those were answered prayers through you. Multiple times the attending addressed my mother’s code status with me (she is alert, oriented, she decides for herself and stated she wants everything done). Dr. Suryadevera who covered for two days, said to me “it doesn’t make sense to me that your mother is still a full code”. With all due respect Dr Suryadevera, maybe with a bit more years of experience as a physician it might make sense to you then, or not, as the family does not need to explain to you our mother’s decision and the family’s support for it. She may be 88, and yes it’s covid, but NEVER underestimate the power of prayer and the will to live. By the way, she has been home for 3 weeks now, living and enjoying life...

I went into ER with crazy high blood pressures, (I don’t suffer from high blood pressures on a normal basis) I was having a very hard time breathing and my entire body felt numb so a friend brought me into the ER. The nurse who triaged me, Ezekiel RN (not PA, Ezekiel PA is amazing btw), Ezekiel (who looks like a Hispanic man, average height, brown skin tone and baldish -he had a very close buzz on his hair, almost bald- ) was asking me questions and I was trying to answer him but I couldn’t quite catch my breath to respond to him fast enough as he wanted me to. So then he started yelling at me and I don’t mean just raising his voice I mean absolutely yelling at me. Most questions were yes or no so it was easier for me to answer but then he said “when was your last menstrual period?” And I had to explain I don’t get one cause I have the IUD, that was a lot of talking for me so I had to gain the strength to try and say that much so he started yelling at me “when was your last menstrual period??!!!” I started to cry (couldn’t really breathe so it was just tears rolling down) not only because he was yelling at me but because I was in my most vulnerable state. I have an 8 year old son who I was terrified I wouldn’t go back home to because I might be having a stroke (strokes run in my family) and I couldn’t speak because I couldn’t breathe and I had this nurse yelling at me like I was in the military. The last time someone yelled at me like that it was my father and he was a career criminal, drug addict and domestic violent man. This is how terribly this nurse behaved, he behaved the same way a domestic violent man on drugs behaves, it was ridiculous and it is unacceptable. As he was yelling at me, my pressures started to go up even more and I was definitely feeling like I was suffocating even more. No nurse staff should ever treat a patient like this! I cannot imagine how he treats an elderly person when family isn’t around or how he treats someone who cannot speak English as their native language and doesn’t know how to complain. This is my second bad experience at Holy Cross ER, I no longer tell people to go there. It used to be a great ER, not anymore, now they just have abusive nurses. Shame on you Ezekiel! You don’t belong in healthcare. Whatever your issue is you need to leave that at home and get a therapist, don’t take it out on the patients! It is unprofessional, inhumane and disgusting! Providence needs to be more careful with who they hire because this...
