5 stars aren't enough! I am thrilled to add Dr. Braham & her incredibly compassionate staff to my girls' veterinary care team.
I'm a professional dog trainer with 20 years' history working with veterinarians around LA. I booked my girls for a dental, after a glowing recommendation from another dog trainer friend. I was immediately impressed with the beautiful, clean and modern office. We walked into their relaxing lobby, and my girls were offered dog appeasing pheromone collars... no wait... quickly offered a private room, filled with sanitized dog toys to help my girls relax. Everyone from the front desk to the vet techs were kind, soft spoken and impressively trained in fear-free, low-stress handling techniques. A multitude of healthy treats available to keep the experience as positive as possible! And everyone had the courtesy to ask IF treats were okay, and IF my girls had any allergies/sensitivities. OMG. Such a breathe of veterinary fresh air!
Dr. Braham took her time with each of my girls, thoroughly taking their history in preparation for their upcoming dental, giving additional advice to support their graceful aging. As fate would have it, our pre-op bloodwork discovered my oldest girl has kidney disease :( devastating and unexpected. But I couldn't have learned this difficult news from a more sensitive, educated and kindhearted human being. Pausing my baby's upcoming dental, Dr. Braham helped me navigate a whirlwind of "what's next" decisions, squeezing Penelope in for additional testing so that we could share answers with her additional team of veterinarian friends & specialists, to provide the best absolute care. Dr. Braham answered EVERY DAMN EMAIL within a day, providing me with additional support, photos, videos... every request to help me support my dog.
I am in awe of how Southpaw Vets has the rare combination of operating like a well-oiled machine, in spite of somehow being a newer clinic?! The support staff are all friendly, and seem happy to work in this office... in a world where so many vets and vet techs are struggling with burnout. Please, fellow dog parents, treat your vets & their team with the same respect and compassion they give our dogs. I hope every human at Southpaw Vets is aware of the difference they make, so that they may continue giving all dogs this same exceptional level of care for years to come!
My girls are lucky, privileged, extremely well-loved dogs... they've enjoyed a long career as canine actors, models & therapy dogs... their unique lifestyle has allowed us to develop friendships with some of the country's top veterinary minds. I can't believe I discovered this gem of a veterinary office, and I'm happy to add Dr. Braham & Co to their circle of trusted experts.
5 stars. 8 paws up from us!

Read moreI came to this vet by a recommendation from Jess Rona grooming in Larchmont. And my experience here with Southpaw Vet was WOW!
When I called to book, they had availability immediately for the next day as I was in need for an appointment ASAP. Was told they also have online booking available to view other time slots if I wanted to book that way for future reference. It was a swift booking via phone. Ample parking in the back of building was nice.
Everyone I interacted with were so nice and caring! The front receptionist in the middle with pink scrubs was very nice and handed us a bandana with their signature calming spray on it while we waited.
The waiting area is modern, spacious and CLEAN. Very nice touch with the picture decor and a nice little refreshment bar of coffee, tea and water. They had a TV playing which was nice to distract and pass time than be on my phone.
The first assistant took us to the room and took all the important information about my senior dog and the concern for the visit. I didn't feel rushed when talking about my concerns. When Dr. Connie Chiang entered the room, it wasn't a long wait from the first assistant to Dr. Connie, unlike other vet clinics.
Dr. Connie is super awesome and genuinely caring and listened to my concern. She was thoroughly informed by the first assistant and I felt relieved because I could discuss more in detail of my concerns. She spent quite a bit of time with us answering my questions and explaining what the next steps are. I never felt this much attention to my senior baby. And again, not once did I feel rushed with the vet, Dr. Connie. Loved how my senior pup slept during our consultation. 🩶
Then I met her two assistants, Amy and Molly. They are amazing, very caring and informative like Dr. Connie!! They answered my concerns and if they didn't know the answer they immediately went to ask and was back in a few mins.
One thing that truly stood out, is how they all sit down and take the time to talk to you. That really made the relationship between pet parents and the staff. I will definitely be back to see Dr. Connie Chiang and her staff!
Update: 9/11/2023 Everyone here are still amazing! Come here regularly for LED Laser treatment for my dog's arthritis. Definitely see a big difference in her walk. Thank you!
Update: 2/17/2025 Dr. Connie and staff are still the Best! With a new puppy, I only trust Southpaw Vets & staff. They are always so responsive via text, emails, and calls. Always the best care from puppy to senior pets. We will always come back...
Read moreIssue after issue here. Looks like I'll need to find a new vet. The front desk was rude when I called to see if there was availability today. I asked who I was speaking to and she pretended like she couldn't hear me and that the call cut out, all to avoid telling me her name . Rude service is my largest complaint. They are pretty bad about returning calls and after today's visit where the vet tech didn't even say hi to my scared dog at all, he just went to touch my dogs face wound without gloves, making her feel even more afraid. I dared bring that up to the vet, just to let her know that her techs should take 10 seconds to say hi to the dog and let the dog smell them before going in for their face. She was full of attitude saying "that's my fault, I squeezed you in because I thought this was urgent." Her tone implied that clearly she did not believe this was urgent, even though I never said it was. I moved my previously set appointment from Thur to Tuesday since I wanted them to look at a scratch on her face to see if she needed stitches or not, because I am not a vet so I have no clue what was needed. I wasn't aware that I was being "squeezed in." They called me back saying there was a 2:45 appointment available and I took it, not knowing that I would be getting rushed and rude service. This vet is not inexpensive, so without good customer service, I don't feel it's worth it. The people caring for your pets should be kind and have good bedside manner. That's just bare minimum. I told the vet I saw today about the issues and she seemed defensive instead of having a willingness to make me feel better about any of this, so needless to say, I will not be back. Moving forward, listen to constructive criticism with care and curiosity instead of rudeness and defensiveness. Had I felt heard, I would not have taken the time out of my day to write a negative review.
Previous to today, I called asking questions about having something done with my dog and I wanted to know the cost and what the recovery time would be. They said someone would call me back Friday or Monday. I called Thur and never got a call back. A week later I had to call back and had to flag the manager down to get an answer. Though they seemed to care when I brought this to their attention, today's experience is directly following that one- so I give up.
*The wound on my dog's face that the vet was not concerned about yesterday has completely opened up again and it's back to being the deep flap- wide open. They couldn't pay me...
