I've come here a few times over the years , but I've never written a review about my visits, because I really don't like writing reviews that are mostly negative... but I had to, this time.
The Santa Rosalia Staples is always a bit drab and not that clean and the store smells like old, stale carpet when you walk in. aaaand TWO of your employees need to take showers before coming to work š¤Ø
My last visit was interesting. We were looking for an item and as always, the store is short-staffed. We were talking about how it's hard to find stuff cuz things aren't where they belong etc etc (and I couldn't remember what the guy showed me last time). There was a woman in the same aisle with us looking around and we were moving out of each other's way. Finally, me being frustrated with not finding what I needed, I asked a brotha in the printing dept "Hello there... do you ONLY work in the printing dept? Cuz I need help finding an itemšš¾." He kindly confirmed that he ONLY worked in printing, but he would send someone to help me. But then I noticed the woman from earlier, who was in the same aisle with us... SHE ACTUALLY WORKS THERE!!! 𤨠She walked behind the counter with him. HE was gonna send HER when she finished doing whatever, so I kindly I asked him to please send someone nice to help us. He looked a bit puzzled, BUT as I was walking away, I heard her tell the brotha "I was just over there and she..." but I couldn't hear the rest of her comment, but it was a bit lengthy because i could still hear her voice as i was walking away. I peeked back and she was still talking with him.
Yes. She was in that aisle with us the WHOLE TIME, hearing how we couldn't find what we were lookin for etc etc and SHE NEVER OFFERED TO ASSIST US. She also had a bad attitude, she NEVER made eye contact, either. I did NOT want her helping us, at that point, so we left. We're gonna come back when the young, nice guy is there (I forgot his name, but we ran into him on our way out and UNFORTUNATELY, it was his off day).
She might not like people (I have no idea) but if she was in the aisle with us the whole time and never once said "sorry bout that, what are u looking for?" ALL I could think, is that she doesn't like her job!!
Staples should have a customer service CURRICULUM, where applicants MUST pass with an A+ before hiring. MOST of the Staples stores have a good number of employees with attitude problems, bad people skills and IDGAF attitudes. Security guard has earphones in his ears while working... how "secure" is THAT?? Yall need to do better with your training and hiring process!! Seems like yall just give jobs to ANYBODY who needs one and you don't care about customer service or sales???!!! Not cool.
Not saying ALL the employees are bad and I know life aint perfect, but there are waaaaay too many bad ones at many Staples locations and that's a problem that needs to be corrected.
To be fair, I'll add to my review, if there's something good to add to it, on my NEXT visit, IF I come back there, cuz there are a few nice ppl who work there, so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give it zero stars I would. I spent at least 5 hours in this store trying to print a double sided program for a live production happening TONIGHT.
When I went to the store on my first trip, the lady at the print center was very busy with a bunch of people and gave me the text book answer on how to print out double sided - touch ā2 sided horizontalā and just follow the prompts. I printed what I needed, left and later realized it was wrong.
On my second trip back (an hour before closing) I went to try and see if maybe it was a settings issue and to no surprise each machine was malfunctioning; it was frozen, it needed paper, etc. Again, the lady is by herself and dealing with a bunch of people at once. I finally get her attention and she explains the problem, I need to print one side out first, put the paper back in and print out the other side separately.
At this point, Iāve printed out my 275 copies of the first side of my program and I asked the lady how we should put the paper in so that it prints out correctly. In the middle of us trying to figure this out, the manager overlooks the lady helping me problem solve, and tells me I need to get out of the store, theyāre closed. I, frustrated, from not only printing out the papers wrong in the first place, waiting patiently (and long) for help with this printing issue, and the audacity he had to tell me to leave knowing the job is not done, brought on a āNo, Iām not leavingā as an answer to him. I explained why I was frustrated and what we were doing and he told me that no matter what he didnāt like my tone and he wasnāt going to help me; he turned off only the printing machine I was using to prove his point. This was the manager Kevin Riley.
As a person who has worked in customer service for years and years, I know what itās like to endure the constant abuse by the customers day in and day out BUT I also recognized frustration and used my probing and customer service skills to 1. Solve the issue to get them up and out of the store and 2. How to do it so that theyāre problem was solved and they left satisfied.
This was by far the worst experience Iāve ever had. We argued back and forth for more than 10 minutes when this time could have been spent printing. He had me escorted out by security. While waiting for my cab, he came back out and eluded that he would help me if I apologized for my attitude. Iām sorry but no, my treatment was too far and I saw right through this backhanded gesture.
The lady was in no fault, she was alone and working in an understaffed environment. Mr. Riley needs to be checked and to be reminded of what real...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne girl in the printing department would not help me at the printer after waiting 15 minutes I ask the girl that initially show me how to download what I want it on my phone for assistance, she said she was busy so I asked to talk to a supervisor after around 15 more minutes the supervisor came and started to help me. I was explaining to him of my grievances and he told me that he was doing me a courtesy, pointed to a sign in the department saying self serve told me he did not want to hear about my whining, and walked off. I would like to know if this is your policy towards consumers. Iāll be calling the office of the president to make a complaint because I believe I was treated unfairly. I eventually ordered next day packets. I had to leave my ID and write down the 10 items that I needed printed. I have shopped at that facility before never have I been treated with such distainā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦. I went back today to see if my order was readyā¦when I walked up I could see my drivers license in the same plastic bag laying on the inside counterā¦I asked the young man if my printed copies were ready he looked baffled saying thereās no orderā¦I was shocked!! after all the humiliation I couldnāt understand why I was told such a fabrication. The young man who I believe is the supervisor for printing area (Chris) said heās not familiar with the policy for anyone leaving their ID overnight. He proceeded to help me copy my order over again because the first one expired in 24 hours. I got everything today at leastā¦I pray something could be done about the awful way...
