Baskin-Robbins — Restaurant in Los Angeles

The place smelled of bug spray upon entering. There was no counter attendant at the counter. I was on my way out when a woman appeared from the back. She was pleasant, but I noticed her hands and fingernails were visibly (black, brown, and redish color)VERY dirty. The dirt under the nails looked as if it needed a scrub brush, not just the usual rinse and shake I've seen here before. When she saw me looking at them, she began to hide them behind her back.

She began touching the icecream scoops without washing her hands. As I left, there was a woman coming in, calling out to the counter attendant for help unloading bananas from a car. She called the counter attendant Lupe.

I left and sat in my car parked in front of the store to write this review. The door to the store was propped open for them to unload the car filled with bunches of bananas, and I could still smell the strong odor of bug spray coming in waves from the store.

The surrounding area looks unpleasant but I am rating this 1-star for the simple fact that I can't rate it 0-stars. There is a picture of light brown hair in my ice cream and my hair is a dark brown/black color. The hair is embedded in the ice cream so it's not something that simply landed there. I am very disappointed and disgusted by this establishment for their lack of hygiene, especially since all the ice cream containers are constantly open and no one is having their hair tied back or in a net. For the amount of money that I spent, I had to throw it away. This will be the last time I ever grace...

The ice cream is good but it's ridiculous that they don't allow you to taste flavors. I'm a 43 year old woman who goes out for ice cream with my kiddos every once in a while. I would have really loved to try the oreo java flavor but was told- "Sorry we don't allow tasting except the flavor of the month." When I pushed back, the person helping me said: "Yeah we're privately owned." What?? You're an ice cream shop. Allow people to taste the flavors. Sure, put a limit like maximum 3 tastes or something but seriously? ...
