University of Southern California is a private institution that is not affiliated with the UC system and is therefore held aloft as a high and mighty juggernaut of education. The university has a healthy rivalry with the far more affordable UCLA. I cannot speak to the cost effectiveness as regards the quality of the educators but there is a distinct difference better the two rival campuses that is apparent when visiting USC village. The flaunted wealth and pretentious atmosphere, with pavers underfoot and the bulwark of architecture pressing-in, appears to signal where the extra cost of tuition had been invested. A handful of eateries are contained in a central section of the village with a pair of flagship grocers of Target and a Trader Joeโs located opposite the elevators to parking. Surrounded by the dormitory buildings the main area is almost always lively and full of life, filled with young undergrad students sitting around talking and eating or just chilling out. Thereโs a range of eateries that offer from asian to Mediterranean foods, healthy options to comfort food as well as Starbucks and Dulce. Trader Joeโs and Target also have branches there which is nice for students to have immediate access to grocery and food items but if youโre buying your groceries at Trader Joeโs plan ahead since itโs always super busy around the noon or evening time. I especially like what Cava and Dulce have to offer and also used to sit on the benches with my coffee and chill out with friends...

For your information, before 2014, USC village used to be the old University Village. You can go check out on Google Street view in 2009. The one we have right now is the one that started to construct in 2015 and ended construction by 2017.
The only downside is that it would not be easy to park for free: you can park on McClintock Avenue for free only, but not at the village...
