Everything was perfect from beginning to end at the 'Candlelight Downtown LA: Best of Joe Hisaishi' concert at Zipper Concert Hall. The stage was wonderous and was fabulous for taking photos. The musicians looked like absolute Goddesses on stage and their personalities are delightful. I was actually happy to listen to the mini-speeches/song introductions. It felt like we got to connect with the quartet more than if they'd just played continuously and only stated the name of the next song(s). They seem like a joyful group that truly enjoys playing and especially playing together so it just adds to the experience.
The program was beautiful and a perfect selection of Hisaishi's works. Loved the opportunity to take video and pictures during final two songs. Makes it feel like a reward for following directions during the concert lol. And the structure of the venue itself was actually fantastic with comfortable seating and a great view of the stage. No one's head gets in the way really lol. I was also extra happy to snag a business card and a set of the candles used on-stage because I seriously wanted to take some home. Had I brought more money I'd have gone for more Orchid...
Read moreI saw the Candlelight Concert: Neo-Soul at the Zipper Concert Hall and had an amazing time! The show was beautiful and the venue was nice! Easily accessible, I parked across the street at the Walt Disney Concert Hall parking for $10, which was much less than expected in DTLA. The venue is small and intimate, every seat is a good one. There were no seat assignments, just sections. We were seated in section B, and sat smack dab in the middle. Best seats in the house! Great sound, great view, nice and clean! The event workers were friendly, too! The seats were pretty tight, so once I sat down I didn't want to leave my seat, but the show wasn't very long at all so I didn't feel stuck. I'd definitely attend...
Read moreI kept seeing ads for this event on my social media, so I decided to attend the RnB night at Zipert Concert Hall. The venue is small and intimate, creating a cozy atmosphere. The check-in process was smooth, and the ushers were very friendly. Just a heads-up: there's no assigned seating, so it's first-come, first-served.
The performance featured a gentleman on the piano/organ, a guitarist, and a female singer. They started about five minutes after the scheduled time, and the show lasted for an hour. Overall, it felt like a relaxed lounge club performance, perfect for a...
