My wife went into the store with our five week old baby. As her mother walked through the store, my wife pushed the stroller with the baby and sat down in a chair sat out for customers in the back of the store. With a cloth completely hiding the act of feeding our child a women came over that worked in the store.
The women told my wife in a very dominant fashion that there are no strollers allowed in the store. My wife who is very pleaseant and hard to rattle said “I’m sorry I was just sitting for a moment to feed the baby.” The women then proceeded to tell my wife that “I guess it’s time for you to go home than.”
As my wife put the baby in the stroller and proceeded to leave as requested. This elderly women could not help but to take one more jab at my wife by saying “I said there are no strollers allowed in the store.”
My wife said politely as she always does, “I just need to get to the front door” and then my wife sat out front in 90 degree heat until her mother who did not hear any of the conversation finished shopping.
I always try to realize there are always things going on in people’s lives that cause them to be angry that has nothing to do with the moment their anger and judgement comes pouring out onto others. I only wish it did not happen to my my wife who is a wonderful women and mother and wife. I hope by posting this story it won’t happen to anyone else...
Read moreThis one of my favorite thrift shops in the Bay Area! March 24, 2021, yesterday, they were open from 10-1. They had someone at the door checking people in. Only 20 in at one time. It is located in Los Gatos—a high end place.
The thrift store is not very large, but it is filled with lots of amazing treasures. This ia one of the two thrift shops in town. What do you think women in town do with their designer clothes when they are tired of them?
There are shoes and hand bags locked in glass cases And nice ladies will open them for you so you can have closer look. If you are on a close budget—they have blouses for $4. Up high on the wall there are designer jackets that don't look worn. There is a rack of Vintage Clothing, and one of Maternity clothing. There is clothing for children and men, but it seems to me that it is mostly women that will score there. Today, they had a display of dolls that were marked 1/2 off. Need glasses or dishes? They have them. They also have knick knacks and jewelery. If you like reading books—they have a lot, but I didn't have time to check them out.
Last but not least, they have dragons!!! I think you might find one that would make a child happy or the child within jolly! A great place to shop for yourself or someone special. I am sorry that I didn't have more time to shop there. Oh, well,...
Read morePoor selection, with any high ticket items priced through eBay, which kind of ruins the fun of a thrift store. Main reason for one star though was how they were treating a customer who had brought her service dog in, the customer was clearly not at 100 percent mentally, as evidenced by the very loud, uncomfortable argument the decrepit clerk was having with her in the middle of the crowded store. Regardless of what you think of service animals/comfort animals, they are allowed by law to accompany their mentally ill owners into places just like any other service animal, so it really stuck in my craw that the angry old clerk was yelling at this woman (who clearly needed an emotional support animal) about how "We don't allow dogs in the store!" She even threatened to call the police. That's friendly service if I ever...
