I’ll preface this by saying that we had an incredible time watching Racing Louisvilles first ever match! That begin said, it was a rocky start getting into the stadium. Essentially, we rode our bikes to the event, and we made sure to check the website for bike parking and bag size allowance. I brought my very small hip pack to carry the essentials for biking across town (head light, tail light, phone, wallet, keys, hand sanitizer (hello, pandemic), and my temporary paper ID). For reference, this bag is 9.5”x5.5”x2”. We get our bikes locked up and attempt to enter the stadium, at which point we were turned away because the bag wasn’t clear. Meanwhile, we’re watching people walk in with “clutches” that are hardly smaller than my very small bike bag. We ended up going back to our bikes, rearranging our locks to be able to unload the contents of my bag, stuff them into my jeans pockets, and attempt to lock the bag to the bike and hope it doesn’t get stolen. It ended up raining at the game, soaking my temporary ID (that I have to keep until my REAL ID comes in ~2 weeks). Ultimately, we still had a wonderful time — this is a fantastic stadium and an incredible addition to the city, but if this is going to be advertised as a bike friendly, neighborhood stadium there need to be improvements to support people who bike across the city to attend. If ALL bags (regardless of size) must be clear, that needs to be prefaced in the first paragraph of the bag allowance rules on the website, not as a footnote. Another option would be to have a bike valet (I’d gladly pay for valet to know that my bike accessories (i.e. lights/helmet/pannier) are safe if forced to leave them behind). We also talked to other friends who rode, who said they had no problem walking in with multiple small bike bags. I understand that there are kinks to work out in a new stadium for new events, which is why I write this review. I hope that others will learn from our experience and that the stadium will attempt to make this a more bike friendly event, rethinking this bizarre “clear bag regardless of size” rule.
Also, another small suggestion: Have more recycling bins within the stadium. I had to purposely seek out a recycling bin to dispose of our beer cans, while I saw multiple trashcans overflowing with aluminum and plastic.
TLDR: We biked to the event with the bare essentials needed for a safe ride across the city and had to stuff our belongings into our pockets because our small hip packs were not clear. Yes, we checked the website for bag allowances prior to attending; the website...
Read moreReally really love this soccer stadium. I think capacity is about 17, 000 and there is no bad seat. I've been to the very highest spot in the end zone and it's awesome. Word of warning the end zones are standing sections You have a spot but not a seat which if you're not ready for that, might be an issue, but everyone in that section seemed to love it and definitely keeps you from sitting, which you know, kind of is the new smoking in terms of it's an impact on longevity, So I guess, stand, cheer and live longer. The clubs fan section is like a rowdy high school game crowd. Very into the game, there are a man and a woman leading almost nonstop cheers, songs and they are accompanied by a small band, mostly percussion. It is a lot of fun and these seats are actually again not seats and I believe the least expensive ones.
This stadium's placement was well thought out. The horseshoe shape of the seating opens up to give you a view of the mile wide mighty Ohio River and the impressive bridges that cross there as well as a bit of the downtown skyline and spectacular sunsets for the evening games. Bathrooms are always nearby and in my visits clean and well tended to. Food is above average for stadium Fair. Especially the earlers ice cream is pretty awesome on a hot day and they have a good variety of beers, craft beers, white claw or similar and mixed drinks. Some of the bartenders must work at real bars as they are so friendly and outgoing.
This place has lots of little extras many of which I'm sure I haven't discovered. But tonight's game was the first one that they were allowed to open up this really cool small sided soccer field for fans to play around in before the game. It looks like a indoor type small field great for like a four on four. It features a lot of steel, looks kind of post apocalyptic...
Read moreWas great! We went to the thunder 2022 event. Got there around 3pm Parking was great and so easy!! They scanned our QR code and sent us in to park. we had purple parking and it was a wonderful spot to see fireworks from the car. We got out and went up to the stadium to get in line they checked our bags and sent us through a metal detector. We had a issue at the gates because we only spotted one of our QR codes (ticket) and was having some problems pulling up the second one up so they nicely told us we can stand to the side having us fix it instead of telling us to get in the back of the line again (which lines went fast just for reference) In the event of that happening a nice man with a gray supervisor shirt came over in a very nice manor and asked what's going on or if we need any help (no one told him we was having any issues he was just alert and observing everything) as we was explain what was going on he said no we are going to fix this and not to worry while he walked us to the ticket office and got it fixed within 5 minutes (I didn't get his name but he's awesome & is doing a VERY good job). Between him and the ticket office they are great! after that we walked around the stadium for a bit and then went out to the car to watch the air show. When the drone & fireworks started we had the best view! We left in the last few minutes of the end of the show (so we could be any traffic) which these was none! We got home in less then 20 minutes! So highly satisfied and I recommend Lynn's...
