This is hands down one of the finest extreme parks in the United States of America. Whether you ride a skateboard, bmx bike, inline skates, or even scooters you'll have plenty to ride here. The park was renovated about 4 or 5 years ago, and now there is an entire street section that is really fun. They also have a newer halfpipe (not sure of the exact height but it's large) that is in great condition. Then there is the main park itself, containing several bowls, a full pipe, boxes, rails, steps, and everything you could want out of a skatepark. 100 The park is also valuable for its intangible aspects. Despite being close to downtown and often seeing a couple of drifters and addicts use its facilities to sleep or relax, there isn't much bad stuff actually happening around there in regards to the people actually going there to skate and use the grounds for its purpose. I have personally made many friends there, and it's great to see how this park is keeping a lot of at risk individuals involved in sport and away from other vices that may have harmed them in the past. The skater community here looks out for one another, and I have never once felt unsafe in this skatepark. It is really crucial that we have these free community resources that actually do a lot more good than people realize. Now, I just hope we can draw more recognizable competitions to our park to help create more of a buzz around the sport of skateboarding. Great job to the city...
Read moreThis skate park is so much fun and I'm so glad it's in the same city as me. There are so many things to skate and you will never get bored. There's a vert ramp, rails, stairs, and so many cool things. There are benches to sit on, a bathroom and a water fountain for spectators. I am a fairly inexperienced skater (I just started a few months ago) and I can only do an ollie, front side 180, shove it, and pop shove it, but it was still very fun to skate. The people there are very nice, If I ever get in their way I apologize and they are cool, and they are very willing to help me out. The only things I dislike in the skate park is that some people treat it like trash. The skateboarders, bikers, and other people who are there to train and have fun are really nice and treat the park well. But there are some people who go there and throw cigarette buts, empty bottles, and straight up garbage all over the park, even though there are garbage cans all over the place. On one of the entrances the was even a whole pile of spaghetti and cans of beans on the ground. Don't get me wrong, I love this place, the people are nice and it's lots of fun, but the garbage problem...
Read moreThe X-treme Park at Clay and Witherspoon Streets is a fantastic outing for anyone that can ride a bicycle, skateboard, scooter, unicycle, hoverboard and/or any device that rolls on wheels!! all ages and skill levels are encouraged to "take off, and be careful" while maneuvering through what is a nationally recognized top ten X-treme sports facility. Most of the riders here are experienced and do an exceptional job of avoiding the younger, less experienced ones.
only a couple negatives, like the graffiti and unpleasant comments spray painted around the park but not enough to deter a family from returning and having a whole new type of fun.
Trash was strewn all around the perimeter but the riding surface and interior were surprisingly well maintained and clear of any debris.
over all this is a "must experience" activity that is sure to be enjoyed by all.
Or bring a chair and just watch the experienced riders.
Oh, and...
