Second time to eat here in 1 month because I can’t stop thinking about the medium mushroom dish with black garlic sauce. Pair this with focaccia bread and you’re on your way to being speechless. Take a bite of one type mushroom and savor— then try the other type of mushroom and have the epiphany that they tasted so synchronous and unique at the same time. Large meals are basically two meals— so suggest two medium and one large…good for two hungry people who only ate breakfast that day. The large meal we got was the chicken. Sweet baby Jesus, that chicken was crisped to perfection. It wasn’t the main event though- the lemon butter sauce was the true diva…as it should be. I was on the verge of devouring the sauce and risk one of my coronaries but I changed my mind when I realized I need to be alive to try the other dishes too. I’m looking at you Baby Beets. The mood was like being in a hallmark movie starring Lindsey Lohan but with a budget. I did go during Christmas season when the lights warmed your face all the way to nostalgia so not sure what the rest of the year looks like. When it gets busy, it does take longer for food to arrive. So shoot for 5:30 reservation, sit in one of the...

The service was fine but everything took forever. It took a long time for someone to come up to the host stand to seat us. It was long enough that, if we didn't already have a reservation, I would've just left.
It also took a long time to get water initially and for our server to come and take drink orders. From ordering to getting starters and food also took over an hour. All in all, we were there for over 2 hours and some of our party ended up leaving before the dessert order came because it was getting so late.
The food was just OK. The halibut dish was very small and it and the pork chop were overcooked. The burger was decent but nothing about it made it special enough to cost $20 (plus $9 for fries). There were a few items that were really tasty but nothing was good enough to justify the prices.
I'll also note that there were discrepancies between the prices on the website and the printed menus. For example, the ribeye online was $59 but actually $63 in the restaurant.
The ambiance was terrible. There was loud music and the space has lots of hard walls and ceilings so the conversation echos and you had to shout to talk to anyone...
Read moreThey have done well with the interiors, even if I was a little too short for the bar (that's a me problem). The booths were cozy but not constricting. The biggest complaint when it comes to atmosphere is the fact when JBS gets going, you know it from inside. It could very well be my well-developed sense of smell, but I don't think that this is it. The service was wonderful. I sat at the bar before my friends came to dinner, and a too-tall for me bar/bar stool situation aside, it was a nice experience. The bartender was welcoming without being overly-solicitous. The server when we sat down for dinner was very friendly as well. She replaced our plates and utensils after every course, which was a nice touch, and the napkins were made of cloth (!!!) Now the food. The mushroom with the black garlic sauce was too die for. Most mushroom dishes can come off too salty for my taste, but this one was perfectly seasoned. And I could bathe in that black garlic sauce. Everything tasted really well. My one complaint would be that the servings are quite small. The foccacia bread was practically a roll. It was great tasting but it would not even...
