On Sept. 21, 2024 we rented the Picasso Room, which is very pretty. What wasn’t pretty was the bathrooms available to our party and guests, as well as the people across the hall in the other party room. There are 5 or 6 stalls in the ladies restroom and only one of the toilets flushed halfway decent. There was water all over the floor and it was disgusting in there. We told the manager, and another gentleman came over - not sure what he did that was supposed to have improved the situation but he did go in there with a mop. There was water coming up in the floor in the kitchen that was greenish in color. It was in an isolated area, not all over the floor. Certain areas smell like sewage. I get that it’s an old building, but people pay a lot of money to rent these rooms and the least that could be done is have clean facilities. I would also add that nobody from the venue comes into the rooms and helps with trash. My husband, who was father of the bride, had to keep emptying the trash and taking it down to the dumpsters- which were overflowing when we got there that morning. Seems like someone from the venue could have assisted between our room and the one across the hall to get garbage throughout rentals. I just didn’t realize I should have hired a housekeeper for the evening! We also had to call and ask for garbage cans. There were about 5 events going on at the venue while we were there and that was fine. There was signage directing people where to go. I did think booking an outdoor wedding for another party outside of the room we rented wasn’t the best idea. We got lucky that their ceremony was at 5:30 and ours started at 6:00. I feel like it could have been distracting to guests at both weddings if we overlapped during ceremonies. Our guests would see it out the windows. As it was, some of our guests were walking into the venue during their ceremony outside. It was also challenging for our photographer to get pictures of our wedding party and not get in the other party’s way. We could hear their music at various times, and likely they could hear ours. I’m willing to bet most of the reviews mentioning clean or nice bathrooms are referring to the DaVinci Room, which seems to be a much newer part of the venue. Just speaking from the experience we had. Hopefully this will give people an idea of questions to ask prior to booking so that the venue works for you. It is a...
Read moreThe space itself is great in Event Room 2! However, upon my arrival at 645pm the air conditioning was clearly not working properly. Earlier in the day it was working fine according to my coordinators but as the evening progrogressed it was sweltering hot in the bride room as well as the event room 2. After, reviewing my pictures of the event it was all but obvious due to my wet hair and my sweat beads rolling from my face that there was NO AIR. I called the art center to make the leasing manager aware of the issue but she had an automatic attitude. If I were a betting woman I would assume this is something she deals with more often than not (complaints). I explained to her that the maintenance guy and facility guy on duty said, "the air conditioner was tripped off from "roof top" which is why it was so HOT. She had the nerve to say someone in my party mustve done that. Really? Not only that she explained that the facility guy has only been employed for 8 weeks so he doesn't have the expertise she has b/c she has been there 12 yrs so he shouldn't be telling me nothing about the building. Ummm, HOW in the HELL would I know what his working knowledge is regarding the art center. I guess I should have ask for his resume perhaps....Scooter says "she always gets the calls when things go wrong well maybe that is because she is the one that TAKES YOUR MONEY for the art center. She proceeded to tell me in a disdainful tone that "all I do is pay-perrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr work sweetie" it took all I had in me not to stoop to that level with her. She also told me the next day the event room 2 was just fine but I didn't give a crap about how great or cool it was the next day I cared about my event and the air the day before. Bottom-line is we made the best of the sweat box but it wasn't easy. I get conflicting stories from the staff that works there...which tells me they rather do the easy wrong than do the hard right...which means standing up and speaking up when you know that the room has been jacked up and the air hasn't been working properly. Hell will definitely have to freeze over before I recommend anyone to spend their hard earned...
Read moreBe very careful renting this place, take lots of pictures how you left it, especially of the bathrooms. My niece had her wedding reception there on a Sat. in July(which was beautiful very nice no complains on how that went!) on the following Monday afternoon I went with my sister-in-law to pick up a handmade sign her Dad had made, it was gone so don't leave anything behind! My sister-in-law went to talk to Scooter Davidson( I'm guessing shes totally different before the event, and I believe a property manager) because after the event she was so rude she had my sister-in-law in tears, she asked when she could pick up her damage deposit? Scooter said they would have to keep it because a sink was broken in the kitchen area, I find it funny that someone else wrote about a sink!! We asked to see it, it looked as though it was picked up from the wall and put on floor, very strange. We had to fight but my sister-in-law finally had someone come and look at it and fix it, so she could get her damage deposit back. The whole thing is- is that they were having a function on that friday, Scooter had no intention of calling her, so they would have said that they had to fix it- so sorry you lost your deductable. Seems to me they have done this a lot! You have to make sure what you save going here is worth it, to me its not! You had to make sure everything was out of the building that night, (after reception) and the garbage outside was ridiculous the back door hardly would shut there was a gap where you could look outside the back of the building stunk from the garbage, they are not responsible for anything, so watch your belongings I myself would not recommend to anyone. The property manager was...
