The ambiance of The Silver Dollar is an experience in itself, with Bakersfield-style honky-tonk music filling the air and a lively, welcoming crowd. When the weather allows, the firehouse doors open, letting the party spill onto the street and making the venue feel like a cornerstone of Louisville’s bourbon and dining culture.
For dessert, the creamy, rich banana pudding is a must, but for a true Kentucky finish, there’s nothing like a premium bourbon neat or a well-paired flight to end your meal on the perfect note.

Long review:
I've come here over a hundred times. These are my thoughts:
This place has good food but it could be better. They scratch an itch so I keep coming back.
My one complaint is I think management needs to be replaced. ALL of the servers are great and do well, but management has utter contempt for their customers. The event that prompted me to write this review today was that we stopped in for brunch right when they opened, and there was a line of people waiting at the door to be seated. We sat their for several minutes while the staff congregated at the other end of the building, ignoring us. It looks like they were having a meeting (to be clear, they were open and we were basically standing in the front area). There is nothing wrong with that, but it was incredibly rude of management to not walk over and say "hey guys we're running late, we'll be right with you." We eventually left to go to Burger Girl. The staff at BG greeted us with a smile as soon as we walked in the door.
It just underscores the attitude management has towards their customers. Because this place has done well, I think they feel entitled and "elite" which is frankly laughable.
In addition, out of probably a hundred visits I've had to send food back twice. BOTH times the manager lady walked over and argued with me about it. The second time was downright hilarious. My chili came out cold so I asked them to pop it in the microwave for a second. The manager came over to my table and angrily proclaimed that "I ASSURE YOU WE DO NOT HAVE A MICROWAVE IN OUR KITCHEN."
This kind of behavior is ridiculous and childish. I would really like the owners to clean house, it would greatly improve...
Read moreWe went to Silver Dollar as they recently open under the new ownership. We went around 11 PM. The bar was not that busy. We sat for five minutes and then the bartender Matt took our orders. Me and my friend got an old-fashioned and my other friend got some whiskey cocktail our check was 45$+ tips. We grab our drink and walked outside the patio. We spent some time in the patio, and came back to the bar again. The next time I took old Forester on the rocks, which was given by some other bartender and I told her to leave my tab open then we were just sitting at the bar. We were trying to make a conversation with the bartender I think there was the general manager as well I asked lady bartender about the new place, but there was no response was ok. After a while, I gave an order to Matt for another old forester on the rocks who took my previous order. He comes with an old fashion and I said I ordered old forester on the rocks. He gave me an attitude about it and get me an old forester on the rocks in a very tiny tasting glass. I kept quit and also said sorry for the miscommunication. Again with an attitude he took a the old fashion which he made extra and dumped it or I don’t know what he did with that. Well me and my friends left from there tipping cash. Our total check was over hundred 1 rounds of cocktails and than I had 2 old foresters on the rock. We also had late night menu which was chips and guacamole and corn esquites which was average. The whole point in writing down the review is I was very happy that this place is open again. It was our go to back when it was silver dollar. I don’t know what went wrong but myself been from the industry and running a successful restaurant in Louisville I will not come back. But I wish them all...
