KAY NAILS & SPA — Attraction in Lumberton Township

Had the worst experience yesterday with Kay after coming here for almost 2 years. Although she does nails very well her customer service is horrible and she has a rude personality. I always request for her specifically to do my nails and this time halfway during my full set she tells me to get my pedicure done while she attended to another customer. As I sit down to start my pedicure she then tells me that someone else will do the French design that I wanted and if I didn’t like it then she would do it. Then I asked her was there a reason she couldn’t do it and she tells me “I have an appointment”. At this point I’m confused and upset because I also made an appointment with her but was half serviced while she fully serviced her next customer. When the boy attempted the French design it was sloppy and I told him to stop and that I didn’t like it. A few minutes later Kay comes over to where I’m getting my pedicure and I express my frustration about the service. She gets very hostile and angry to the point where now she’s yelling at me. I was very uncomfortable and disappointed after being a long time client of hers. Long story short she ended up doing the French design but after this experience I will never come back to this...

This was a very bad experience. I asked for a gel manicure, and the man who tried to give it to me didn't know what he was doing, and was incredibly rude. I tried to nicely explain that the French tips were completely uneven, that I wanted a thicker tip, and that he missed spots, but he didn't understand me, so he had to ask one of the women who worked there to translate. When I showed her my nails, he kept grabbing my hands back and got upset that I was talking to her instead of him.

He spent the next 30 minutes fixing what he'd done to nails, telling me the whole time to tell him if anything was wrong and he'd fix it (which I did, and then he got more upset), and that I didn't need to tell her because he could fix it himself, and that the mistakes weren't his fault. It was very odd, and I almost got up and walked out. After I left, it took me 20 minutes to get the gel bits that he'd left on my hands off, and file all my nails to smoothness. By that point, I'd given up on trying to explain to him what he was doing wrong.

The rest of the staff was apologetic and friendly. However, until that man is gone, I recommend not coming here unless you like being used for practice by someone who doesn't take...

I was introduced to this salon by a friend. She had gone for her 1st time (I believe her review is above somewhere) I loved how her nails came out. I'd already been going to another salon for several yrs religiously, and I really loved my nail tech, and so much so that even though it wasn't cheap, and I tipped VERY well, I didn't ever tell her I was pretty much always unhappy with my nails, I didn't want to hurt her feelings. My fault, I know, not the point. So I decided to check out Kay Nails one day. I won't ever go anywhere else again!! I love the quality of work!!! As well as the lady that did my nails, I wish I could remember her name, but it was kinda loud in there when I went and already asked 3 times so...didn't want to annoy her, didn't ask again. She's FABULOUSLY talented!!! She's done my nails twice now and did an ABOVE FANTASTIC job and I'm so proud to show them, I've had SKILLIONS of compliments so I point them in the direction of Kay Nails and put their cards in my pharmacy! Give them a chance to show you their amazingly talented skills of their crew!! Sorry for the old looking...
