I really hate to be the one to ruin their perfect 5-star rating, but I have to call it down the middle. The owner is a great guy, the bread is excellent, and his fresh mozzarella (which he pushes as much as he can) is delicious. But the sandwiches I get here are light on meat and heavy in price. Look at this Italian sub and you tell me if it’s worth $14. There’s hardly any cold cuts and the thing is stuffed with lettuce and tomato. I get a much better value at Jersey Mike’s!!!
Again, the owner is very personable and for all I know, their hot food might be a great value. But the $14 subs here are not even close to worth it. I wanted to make this my regular stop for subs because I literally live right around the corner, but unfortunately I won’t be going back.
Update (5-10-24)---apparently the owner replied and is calling me a liar. Look...one thing I'd never do on Google is tell a lie to hurt someone's business. This sandwich was ABSOLUTELY purchased at his salumeria. Maybe since I posted this review, he's putting more cold cuts and less tomato and lettuce on his sandwiches. I hope that's the case. But reporting my review as false is not the way to win me back as a customer. If he really wants me to return and try one of his "authentic gourmet Italian" sandwiches, an apology and a promise to do better would have been much more effective than a...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about this hidden gem I discovered. As someone who grew up surrounded by authentic Italian cuisine, my standards are sky-high—but this place exceeds them all. Everything is well crafted with love and passion that you can truly taste. I’ve sampled multiple items, and every single one has been nothing short of just like home.
The owners, Sergio and Fatima, are an absolute delight. Their warmth and dedication to their craft make every visit feel like coming home. I find myself here two to three times a week for lunch because it’s just that good. Supporting them feels like a privilege, and I wholeheartedly recommend this spot to anyone who craves Italian food made with care and authenticity. It’s easily one of the best spots I’ve ever been to locally, and I can’t imagine a...
Read moreOrdered lunch today in the office, and it's pretty typical that I have no idea what the store is, or where it's located. Got my Italian combo with chips and limonata, and I'm in heaven. The provolone is excellent in quality, and the cold cuts are sliced thin and off the charts, but the bread. Ohhhh the bread. The perfect mix of crunchy and soft. FRESH. I was so happy with my lunch today, I had to look up the location, and I wasn't surprised as my wife is a Nutley native- born and raised. This place is the real deal and it doesn't get any better. Everyone has their preference, but comparing this place to Jersey Mike's, you should be ashamed of yourself. Prices are good, and the sandwiches are incredible. Can't wait...
