I went to 3rd Wave Cafe a couple of weeks ago. I didn't review right away because I didn't want my frustration to be a part of the review, so here I am a couple of weeks later.
My family and I (6 people total) arrived and were seated quickly. There were only 4 other patrons in the cafe. We were given menus & our orders were taken quickly. And then it took a turn.
30 minutes later, we were the only patrons left in the cafe, 3 orders of food were brought out. In my opinion, it seems like a long wait considering the type of food they prepare, but whatever. The 3 people ate their food as we talked and waited for our remaining meals. We noticed there was no one in the kitchen after about 10 min and figured there was another kitchen or something in the back. 5 minutes later, the cooks came back out and started cooking.
15 minutes after they started cooking (30 min total), 2 more orders came out. Now, if you do the math correctly, 5 orders for 6 people each ordering 1 thing, you would think the waitress or someone would notice there is something wrong.
We gave them another 10 minutes before we noticed the cooks were once again gone, I brought to their attention that we were missing one meal. They went to check, and they told me there was an issue, but it would be out shortly. I then heard the waitress tell the cooks to start my food. I walked to the waitress and told her to cancel my meal as I didn't want to wait another who knows how long while the rest of my family had already finished their food.
When I went to pay, the cashier mentioned he wasn't going to charge me for the missing meal. And I'm not entirely sure if he was joking or not. I'd like to believe he was.
I would give the service 0 stars if I could. My family mentioned that the food that was delivered, was very good. And it's a nice cozy spot. But the service and attention to detail really left a sour taste...

Crêpes are an ultra-thin pancake common in France that can be made sweet or savory, typically rolled or folded with a variety of fillings from jam or Nutella to ham and cheese or fruits. They can be eaten for breakfast, dinner, brunch, dessert, or even a snack.
Situated on Riverside Avenue in Lyndhurst, this cozy, simple hidden gem establishment offers an array of healthy options on their diverse menu, to which my partner and I returned after 8 years.
Upon entering 3rd Wave Cafe, we were able to get a booth along the wall in an upbeat, casual vibe as the music was playing throughout.
We decided on the Tropical Crêpe and Avocado BLT Wrap.
I started with a French iced coffee that was really strong and served in a glass mug.
The crêpe was fluffy, and the texture was great. I could tell all the fruit in it was fresh because it was sweet. The crepe was decorated nicely with a Nutella drizzle and whipped cream dollops that made it visually pleasing. The food, on top of being good-tasting, had a great presentation. The price was reasonable and the portion a healthy size. The service was friendly and not rushed; our server was Am.
We left feeling satisfied and content, and we can recommend returning to explore...

Not only is their gourmet food utterly delicious with a variety of healthy options, but it’s right inside of Lyndhurst and accessible to many of me and my friends that have been deprived of a proper cafe for far too long.
There are a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options on the menu, but if you’re someone like me you’re willing to have food from the Wave at any time of day. The acaí bowls are my personal favorite because all of the fruit tastes fresh and clean, so you know you’re getting satisfactory product. Not a single time have I been disappointed by any of the employees, for all of them are incredibly kind and hardworking. Even on days they’re met with insane rushes and impatient customers, they make sure that you walk out the door with good vibes for the rest of the day.
The Wave is the perfect restaurant for you if you’re looking for an aesthetic morning dine, or if you’d just like to grab a fresh cup of iced coffee on your way to work. Regardless of your intentions, they will cater to you with authenticity...
