Do not buy appliances from Best Buy, or at least not this one. The whole process has been a nightmare.
TL;DR - Had so many problems with them, ended up cancelling 2 of our orders, paid over $100 for installs that didn't work, and am still going to have to do the installation myself because they don't seem to know what they're doing.
Bought a fridge, microwave, washer, dryer, dishwasher and stove. Deliveries had to be spread across 4 different times because of availability which is understandable. First order was the fridge, everything went fine with that one no issues. The next delivery was supposed to be dishwasher and microwave. Guy showed up with the microwave, but told us there was no washer at the warehouse. Had to call them to try and get things sorted out for that, but got an email that it automatically got pushed to our next scheduled delivery, which was for the washer and dryer. That day comes, in the morning we get a call from Best Buy to confirm that we already had the dishwasher and that someone was coming out to install. We had to explain to them that no we do not have the dishwasher, it was never delivered. Play phone tag with them for an hour, finally just end up cancelling the order for the dishwasher because they can't figure out what's going on with it. Still expecting the washer/dryer delivery between 7am and 1pm. 2:30pm rolls around with no call or anything, have to call the store to figure out what's going on. Lady on the phone says they are running behind and that she expects them to be there between 2:15 and 2:30 and then I have to tell her that it's already past 2:30, so she just guesses they'll get there around 3:30 instead because it's apparently impossible to get ahold of the delivery drivers for a better time estimate. Anyways, they end up getting there around 3:00. They work on getting the washer/dryer hooked up, but there's an electrical problem so they have to take the dryer back. They were also supposed to switch the door on the washer so that they open opposite each other, but he said they'd have to take care of that when they bring the new dryer. After they leave, we attempt to run the washer. They never turned the water back on after install so I had to pull the thing out and try to squeeze back there to get the water on and when I do, water starts leaking everywhere because they never tightened the hoses. Get the water cleaned up, tighten everything, then run a load. Halfway through I have to run downstairs because it's banging so loudly, they never bothered to level the thing so it sounded like a jackhammer was going off in the laundry room. Also, they got the hot/cold water hookups backwards. I called Best Buy, got a delivery for a different dryer set up for the following Tuesday, figure I'll just have them level it and fix the lines that day. Tuesday rolls around and I show the delivery guys the washer and explain that the thing needs to be leveled, the hoses need to be swapped, and that the door needs to be switched. They work for about an hour, the new dryer ends up blowing the fuse as soon as it is plugged in, so it looks like that part is my outlet is bad, so that bit isn't on them. But, instead of flipping the door on the washer like we asked, they just flipped which side the washer and dryer were on so they didn't have to unscrew anything. Which again, not a big deal, but they didn't ask if we were ok with that switch. But anyways, they leave, I try to run a load through, and I'm getting H20 supply error showing, so now I've got to pull the damn things out again and basically do the install myself, but when I go to move them, almost crush my foot because they never attached the dryer to the base so the thing just kind of slid halfway off the stand. Called them back and just cancelled the oven that I was expecting in a couple weeks just because I don't trust them to get it...
Read moreBest Buy has changed a lot over the years, today they sell just about everything from refrigerators to computers and literally everything electronic in between. Naturally I can't speak for all of them, but the one Macedonia seems to be a well oiled machine. My recent experience was very positive versus previous ones where I would've liked to burn the place down because of geek squad. If you actually go to the store you will have no trouble finding someone who is actually knowledgeable in what they sell. I cannot stress strongly enough how important that is when you're trying to buy a router or replace the motherboard. These are not things that you can just figure out on your own (without making a trip and returning seven items) … I'm writing this is just a layman like me will be reading this. It's very frustrating going to specialty stores and having staff simply assume that you speak the jargon. They don't do that here or at least they didn't on my visit. My 15-year-old daughter was complaining of poor Wi-Fi in her room so we went to Best Buy to see if he could find the range extender or repeater. The young lady I spoke to smirked a little and said I was wasting my money. She said "we sell so many of these and every single one come back". "They don't work, and if you buy this I'll see you tomorrow when you return it". She spent the next half an hour trying to explain to me the newest router system that comes with actual satellite routers that produce a different IP address and the same signal strength as the base. It's $400 versus the $29 item on Amazon or $138 item Best Buy. She said that she could tell I was there to buy a Wi-Fi extender and to give it a shot, maybe one other can actually work. I was not one that. I firmly fell within the nine. The next day I was back as she predicted and returned the item which was a very seamless process. Ironically, Amazon does sell a $29 Wi-Fi extender that works beautifully. I ultimately bought that but we always go to Best Buy first because I like to support local stores even if the big-box retailers. Most importantly the people make all the difference in the world. I have no doubt that what that young lady was trying to sell me was the correct approach I just found an item that works better for me and was a fraction of the price. One last thing… In our conversation she just happened to comment that they don't make commission so "she's only trying to show me products that will solve my problem", she was telling the truth and that's why I like the store....

My latest experience last week was that I spilled a little amount of water on the laptop keyboard and immediately turned it upside down. When I turned it back the monitor was working and then suddenly went black. I brought it in immediately to the Geek Squad in Macedonia, OH. They said that the motherboard was damaged and the cost to replace it would not be worth it and to get a new computer. I asked them to please check to make sure and to also fix the two keys I removed from the keyboard to let the water escape. They weren't broken, I just couldn't see the small part well enough to know which way to turn it to put the key back on. They told me to purchase an external hard drive and they would try to download the date off of it. That same day they called me back stating that they were able to download the data onto the hard drive I purchased. They didn't put the keys back on and said they were broken, which they weren't. I asked them for my parts back that I gave them and they said they don't have them. NOT TOO HAPPY! I brought the computer back to work and turned it on and low and behold it came up but was stating that the hard drive was not connected. It was in a bag they gave me back. So I took it back and said it is working and please install the hard drive. I wanted to watch and they said no I couldn't. They brought it back out to me and told me it wasn't working and they couldn't bring it back up and that there was water damage to the motherboard. I took it back to the office again and turned it on and it STILL said the hard drive wasn't connected. I TOOK IT THEN TO MIKES COMPUTER RESCUE IN HUDSON, OHIO AND HE OPENED IT IN FRONT OF ME AND SAID THAT THE HARD DRIVE WASN'T CONNECTED AND AS A MATTER OF FACT UPSIDE DOWN. HE CONNECTED IT AND GUESS WHAT!!!? IT WORKED!!! EVERYTHING I WAS WORKING ON WAS BACK ON THE SCREEN.They also FIXED my one key and the other were the GEEK Squad lost the parts he had to glue it back on making it unusable. I wanted them to reimburse me for the $75 that MIKES COMPUTER RESCUE ONLY charged me but they said no. They would only refund me for the external drive. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR COMPUTERS THERE. UNLESS THEY WILL PAY FOR EVERYTHING THEY DON'T DO....
