We booked tickets indivdually for the Christmas brunch and our whole party was seated at separate tables. This was my first visit and we had no idea it was an assigned seat event. When booking the tickets there was no option to list the others in your party, or to otherwise indicate we would need to. I could look past that snafu of poor event management, however the manager was incredibly rude to us when trying to remedy the situation. He was completely unwilling to even attempt to come up with a solution, and continually blamed us stating that we should have "called him". Mind you, this was my first time to this place and it was a buffet, not table service. I booked a ticket online, as did my friends, and was given no further instructions. I do believe that he may have been overwhelmed (we were not the only ones with this issue), but he seemed unwilling to take any responsibility for the issue. A simple apology and humble acknowledgement of an unfortunate situation would have gone a long way. Instead we were treated to arrogance and indifference. The rest of the staff was lovely and helpful. We waited til everyone was seated and saw two empty seats at table near my own table. After confirming with some of the staff(very kind and happy to help), we were allowed to move our other two party members there so we could all be near each other. The house was lovely, but the experience was soured with the terrible interaction from the manager who definitely needs some further customer...

A beautiful house and a great tribute to a storied piece of Macon history. There is parking along the street in front of the house and some, limited, parking in a small lot behind the house. You enter through the back of the house (not the street side). This may look like a 3 story house but it is actually 7 stories with lots of extras. Tours usually start on the hour and are provided by a knowledgeable person on the history of the house. If you come early, you can pay and look around the first floor where there is a wealth of information, china, a gift shop, and displays of the various rooms and items. The tour takes you to the upper 2 floors and then the tour guide asks if you are willing to pay $5/person to see the upper floors. It is well worth it. They are updating most of the rooms in the house but the rooms that they have already restored are wonderful. They have faux wainscotting that looks real, large round pocket doors, curved tiffany windows that move up and down, and lots of other beautiful and unique features. The whole house is beautiful and the tour is fascinating. It tells the history of the house and the area through the eye of the owners and parts of their houses. The entire tour takes about 1.5 hours. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more...

I had the privilege of working at this venue, and it's safe to say that it was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. From the moment I stepped into the venue, I was greeted with warmth and kindness by the staff, who treated me with kidness and gave me free range of this stunning histroical property. Their hospitality was truly outstanding, and it made my job so much easier and enjoyable.

The venue itself is truly stunning, and I was blown away by the attention to detail that went into every aspect of its design. From the beautiful architecture to the exquisite decor, every element of this venue exudes elegance and sophistication. I was truly impressed by the beauty of the space, and I felt inspired to create some truly breathtaking moments for my clients.

If you're looking for the perfect wedding spot, I would highly recommend this venue without hesitation. The staff's dedication to creating a magical experience for their guests is evident in everything they do, and I have no doubt that any couple who chooses this venue for their wedding will be thrilled with...

We visited a house last month. Having visited and toured numerous historic homes, I would say this one is well worth visiting if you are in or near Macon. The house has several interesting architectural features and an interesting history. From top to bottom, there are seven floors. The tour that we took was the general tour and we saw the first three floors and the basement which is very interesting. Some of the rooms contain furnishings, art, and accessories from the original and second owners. However, some of the furnishings are representations of what might have been there during the time that the first two families lived in the house. This is a very large home and more restoration is in its future. We would certainly recommend a visit if you are interested in historic homes and beautiful architecture.
