My first time at this location for lunch with friends. They raved on and on about the food and beer. I’m not a beer drinker but definitely love food. So I came for the experience. Ordering is done at a counter and then delivered to your perch. The dining area is filled with brewing equipment and has high ceilings. As you can imagine, the acoustics help the sound resonate, and it has a cafeteria roar. The food has nice presentation but the flavor was lacking. Basic average burgers and limp natural cut fries. The cheese curds wanted to be good but the beer batter was too light and it lacked the texture to complement the gooey cheese. I don’t drink, so I did not have a beer delivered to the table. I missed out on even getting a beverage, because I found the drink fountain just before we left. It’s not anywhere near the ordering counter but down a hallway on the way to the restroom. The manager did show concern about the uneaten food, offered to buy me a beer, but I don’t drink. There is other great reviews of this place and my friends love it. So I don’t want to discourage others. However a six dollar burger and fries shouldn’t cost fifteen dollars. In my opinion the menu is overpriced. I’m quite sure it has to do with the locations overhead. I would eat here again to support local businesses but it’s not my first choice.

Okay, we were super excited to try this place. I ordered the “Nashville” Hot Chicken Sandwich and thought it would come out with the ghost pepper sauce and it would be hot. Nope. Not even a smidgen of hot. I think they forgot the sauce altogether or even the “Nashville” hot level. The sandwich was not spicy at all. It came with cole slaw but was kale slaw. My sandwich was seriously swimming in grease. The chicken breading was burnt from them using old frying oil. The only hot item was the fried pickles and they were overly salty but ok. My boyfriend preferred the Ocmulgee original and it came out raw. Like pink raw. He ordered medium and he just ate it because he’s just that kind of guy and won’t make a big deal and have someone just remake it. I was excited for the shoe string fries except they were dry, crunchy, cold and zero taste. They had been sitting under the heat lamp quite a while. They were awful. Someone recommended this place and not even sure why but unfortunately our experience was horrible. I ate half my sandwich and a few pickle chips and threw the rest away. He ate his burger the best he could and I seriously hope he doesn’t get sick from the burger not being cooked. Everyone was nice inside. It wasn’t busy. The place seemed clean inside but not the outside tables. They were all ready to go home. LOL

Ocmulgee Brewpub hands down has one of the best burgers I have ever eaten in my entire existence. This restaurant was suggested to us by another restaurant owner (Christy Lee owner of Parish on Cherry - Check it out) and I was not disappointed. The first thing I noticed about the restaurant is there is a huge distillery in the front window, so I thought to myself I don't drink beer the food won't be good. I WAS WRONG this restaurant is so unique from the decor to the menu. The burger was so yummy and juicy, the fries seasoned to perfection and the drinks were tasty. 10 for 10 for sure! It gives an elevated lunch room feel but its super nice inside. I never thought I would eat a burger with fruit on it but the Eat a Peach is a must try. They also make all of their sauces from scratch even the ketchup which was so good but the truffle aioli is the king of sauces here I put it on everything from my burger to the fries. They need to bottle this stuff! I will definitely be back! What we ate: Eat a Peach Holy Peyote Patty Melt Build Your Own All sandwiches came with fries and we had the fountain drinks which don't contain high fructose corn syrup some of the flavors included: blueberry, pink lemonade, lemon lime, Mexican cola, and root beer. It was really good!

Love this brewery! Always make sure to stop by when I’m driving through Macon. Their burgers are outstanding and their beer is even better. But this story goes above and beyond. My wife and I had recently moved and unfortunately in the move lost (misplaced) a couple boxes we haven’t been able to find. In one of those boxes was my Ocumulgee brewery shirt. I had checked on the site and noticed there was no online store. So I reached out to the brewery in regards to possibly getting a new shirt. Anna and Brandon responded almost immediately, they sent me photos of what they had and not only that but took time out of their busy day to keep in contact and personally go to the post office to mail me a new shirt. Not only that but did this all during and before the busy holiday so I could get my shirt before Christmas! Thank you Anna and Brandon for all your help you guys are truly awesome! You have a customer for life any time I’m in Macon! Happy Holidays to all your staff. Cheers!

Not sure if we caught them on a bad night, or if their struggles are a regular occurrence. They were out of several sides (or in some cases, key ingredients of some sides such that they couldn't be prepared normally) but that wasn't apparent until after waiting over 20 minutes in line to order food leading to frustration and hurried alternative selection. I ordered the Smokey Appleation burger - it was a good burger (served with a mountain of tater tots) but far from spectacular. I went to get more BBQ sauce at the counter, and was told "We don't have BBQ sauce". After clarifying that I had just received a burger with BBQ sauce on it, I was then told "oh, well we ran out". That same attitude was apparent in most of the staff - not a particularly warm bunch of folks. Could have just been unfortunate timing on a busy night, but definitely a less than stellar experience.
