One of the lovelier spots in Macon, this large squarish-shaped park is great for a fabulous view of the city. Surrounded by beautiful homes including the Johnston-Felton Hay House, the park is a great place to picnic. There are outdoor concerts here, permanent art installations and a number of memorials to past military and a famous politician.
One special feature is the slide which is probably really nice some times but today was a little filled with trash. And no, this isn't the cardboard pieces that help you have an enjoyable ride. You do need something to reduce the friction or it's not much of a "slide" after the trash is gone.

For the last few years I've been up there with gf's and others to embrace the beautiful down to earth site for very soar eyes. Has it changed? Over the last few years I suppose it has changed for the most part as society changes around us. I've spreaded more than enough ashes over the Hill than I like to count. Memories can overload a typical mind at anytime visiting this particular landmark. I would recommend any and everyone to atleast visit once. Sundown is a great time but anytime is worth it.
