NailsbyBao — Attraction in Madison Heights

I've been here a few times and I usually like coming here. I thought the staff was very personable and friendly. Over time, I realized how rude the store owner can be. Today I was scheduled for a full set and pedi. I received my pedi from a nail tech and while getting my pedicure, the store owner took off my acrylic without soaking my nails in acetone. So, it hurt and made my nails brittle. She also broke off my nails while removing the acrylic then ask me if I wanted tips added. My nails were already long. I asked her why would you cut my nails down and not ask me if I wanted that done. She then says this is how we usually do it and asked me if I wanted to continue my services from her. She then says to me, I remember when you come in last time and your never happy with how your nails look. I don't understand why you keep coming back. I was always happy with my nails. I guess I have to keep quite and not specify how I want my nails done. The level of rudeness and unprofessional work ethic the store owner has amazes me. She does not know how to talk to customers. Her husband had to apologize on her behalf. I will definitely not be back. I do not recommend anyone...

Bao gave me the a perfect manicure. Other places I've been to just don't shape them right, but Bao got my nails painted and shaped perfectly and quickly. You can tell she's very skilled at what she does. There's a divider between the manicurist and the customer, which made me feel safer. Everything looked clean and sanitized. Bao and her husband were very friendly, and even stayed a little late just to squeeze me in with a last minute appointment.

Tip: Call ahead of time, to see if she's available.

Will definitely be back, to try out the big comfy chairs next time :)

Update: tried both the classic and special pedicure. Chi is the best, he does a great pedicure and great foot and calf massage. If you've got really dry skin, get the special pedicure you can pick out your scrubs and lotions. Otherwise the classic pedicure is also super relaxing. First time customer here for my husband and I. Hubby wanted to take me for my birthday for a nice pedicure. First off it’s by appointments only and I so respect that. My husband found nails by bao on google. They’re closed on Sundays and took a chance and sent an email to get an appointment the very next day. Sure enough I get an email back saying they can take us. To get a response and they’re closed I knew this place was good. We walked in and everyone was so welcoming. They made us feel so comfortable.
