This is a copy of the email I received, from management, when I reached out to them to report a very disturbing experience I had with a patron and an employee of theirs.
Other than refunding the latest payment to them, which was automatically withdrawn after my horrible experience there AND after initially requesting to cancel, this is the patronizing tone which their management found appropriate to address harassment of a member inside of their gym and no additional effort was made to address, or even attempt to make up for, my experience with this gym.
Needless to say, I will not be returning, family will be cancelling memberships, and this laughable example of “customer service” may now serve as a warning to all potential future customers.
*Edit: I forgot to mention that this email also came after I was hung up on by the desk staff when I called to request an email to contact regarding my experience and the cancellation of my membership, as the staff on-hand advised me that they could...
Read moreI've been a member for almost three years and I can easily say that Capital Fitness has been the best gym I've belonged to. The management team has done a great job updating the equipment over the course of the year with top of the line machines, and they are intentional with the design of the space (e.g., powerlifting in the basement, large workout space upstairs for classes and general movement, etc.). But, I think the thing that makes Cap Fit so special is the culture and environment--it's a welcoming, healthy, judgement-free space. The management team and the trainers are more than happy to show you how to use a piece of equipment or perform an exercise, and the members are friendly and encouraging of one another. Definitely a great place to make friends if you're new to the area! As someone who used to only run, I've become more comfortable learning to lift because of this gym and I look forward to seeing the Cap Fit team and fellow members on a...
Read moreOnly one of the two restrooms is actually usable. The one downstairs I'm pretty sure has something growing in it. Don't buy the whole 2 gyms for 1 cost because their West Washington location is basically a "hyped" up hotel gym. Weights are super un-organized and 35's are just kinda left lying around cause nobody knows where to put them. They only have one of each machine which is awesome during rush hour when it's packed after 5 and you can never do your exercises cause there's no other machine that works the same muscle group. You also pay $55 a month for a gym that closes at 9pm 3 days out of the week so that's pretty sweet. And if you do decide to become a member there's a $150 fee if you want to cancel, and you can only do that after 50% of your yearly contract has already been paid for.
Honestly, a snap fitness or an anytime fitness has the exact same equipment as this gym I don't think the $55 a month is worth it for the amount of...
