I like to give credit where credit is due unfortunately most of my experience from staying at this Best Western hotel has left me scratching my head trying to come up with something good to say⦠I will admit that the location is greatā¦but that is about it. Check-in with Micaela set the tone. She clearly did not want to be at work that day, no smile, no hello, not even some eye-contact when I handed her my ID. She had me sign for the room (at a discounted rate of $152.10 + 22.05 tax) and then pointed to the elevators. I canāt blame someone for having a bad day but seriously? I felt like I need to apologize to her and I didnāt even do anything. Upon entry, the room appeared tidy and while it was small, it was very workable for my needs. Then I went into the bathroom. There were long brown hairs in the sink and the tub as well as short curly black hairs on the toilet seatā¦gross. I almost called for a new room but I thought Micaela might kill me if I complained. I pulled back the covers on the bed and noticed something red on one of the pillowcases. I inspected further and discovered it was smeared blood. The blood appeared to be contained to just the one pillowcase but it left me wondering how in the world, if the sheets and pillowcases were actually changed after each occupancy, that managed to slip by. Needless to say I went to bed feeling dirty. There was a seemingly never-ending flow of traffic down the hallway and the paper-thin walls let me in on every conversation that passed by. Every time someone flushed or started the shower anywhere near the room it sounded like the pipes were going to rattle and break through the wall. Ok, That may be an over-exaggeration but at 4 am when Iām trying to sleep, the constant noise got to be perplexing. I would have used the express check-out option however I noted that the bill that was slipped under the door was showing my credit card would be charged $205 after taxes and fees. I felt that was a lot higher than what I signed for so I went to the front desk to ask. Lo and behold Micaela was at the desk, scowling. I showed her the bill and asked to verify the rate, reminding her that there should be a discount applied. She looked up the invoice in the computer and flatly replied, āIām showing this is the rate with the discount.ā She handed back the bill and looked down as if that were the end of the conversation. I was prepared with a printout of the confirmation email I was sent guaranteeing the rate so I handed it to her and asked her to tell me where the discrepancy was coming from. She took the printout, rolled her eyes as if this was the most inconvenient thing she has ever dealt with in her life and then said, āI can show you what you signed for at check-in.ā A few moments later Micaela returned and informed me that there must be a glitch with their system (I think this was the closest she got to an apology). She did correct the bill and then I checked out. Iām still waiting to see how the charge pans out on my credit card statement as I see it was run 4 times by the hotel. I like the Best Western chain of hotels but I can guarantee I will not be going back to the Inn on the Park. Also, Micaela may want to look into a new line of work, customer service does not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall DO NOT stay here. Marriott and Hilton have great hotels here, you will love their quality 10x more than here. Here is my experience: Cons: I stayed here for 4 nights. I picked it because it seemed the most elite hotel in Madison yet I had one of the worst experience. Their standard room is probably the smallest room you will ever stay. You will feel claustrophobic,
Bathroom: The sink is area is so small and next to the door (I am 160lb) the size was almost half my body size. You cannot fit just across super small mirrow to wash your face, shave, etc. Also none of your toiletries will fit on the vanity top. The smallest bathroom I ever used in a hotel,
Privacy: I booked and checked in the same day. The punishment is they will COPY YOUR ID and keep it. When I asked them how they protect my ID information from being hacked or someone steal, the manager said they save it in their hard disk and It was super safe, hacker proof!!!!! When I refused to share it because they have no idea how to protect my government ID photocopy, they refused to check me in. I kept asking to share how they guarantee my ID protection, the manager told me again that I should trust her and when I asked her to give me something written, again THE MANAGER THREATENED me by not accepting to the hotel and that I must give photocopy of my ID. If your privacy is important DO NOT CHOSE this hotel. They have no idea how to protect our ID info. It was last minute, I had many bags, the roads were closed bc of farmers market and UBER was dropping at a far place so I had to accept their terms.
Food: They have a restaurant, name The Post. I ordered food (brokoli soup, Chef's Desert, etc) , they took my order and it turned out that they stopped cooking them a long while ago, the waiters forgot to tell me and it was totally fine for them to still keep them in the menu!!!! I ordered their signature burger "The Post" They used the least quality ground meat, you won't be able chew maybe 30% of it and will have to spit it.
GYM: I travel a lot and gym is super important for me. They have good cardio equipments but ZERO weights!!! Though there is a bench?!?!?
Pros: Location is great, furniture is...
