UPDATE: The owner responds to this review by stating that we didn't have valid ID. This is an outright LIE. We both have valid ID, always. My husband says she didn't even ask him for his ID. So on top of being judgemental and apparently lacking in mental capacity, these people are also dishonest.

My husband and I live in Buncombe County, and we wanted to get away from the house tonight. This hotel booked us for a room AFTER getting our address, and put $144.30 on hold with our bank. Then when we got there, she said she made a mistake, declined our booking, and said they will refund the money. Because they don't want local people to stay there. But that's $144.30 we don't have TODAY to spend on a room. That's money we won't have to go grocery shopping tomorrow. We are tempted to go to the bank and dispute the charge, as we would with any other fraud.

Don't go to this hotel no matter where you live. They clearly make moral judgements about people they know nothing about. If you are local, they simply assume that you are there to party or you are a drug dealer. Two other hotels in the area have had the mental capacity and good will to make an exception for us. We will go back to them.

Boo took me away for the weekend wanted to stay here. From the reviews and pics it seemed so lovely. We got a king room on the 2nd floor. It had a screened in porch which I loved. The light didnt work.on our porch no big deal. Didn't really need it anyway. We just wanted someone peaceful and quiet. We'll it was a car/truck festival the weekend we came up. Yay for us I love vechicles no big deal. When it was quiet time we had one neighbor with kids starting a band with harmonica and the other one was partying and smoking pot. Banging on the door through out the night. I sleep very light I first thought it was the police knocking. Until I heard him scream someone let me in. I knew he was just locked out. The room walls were thin and you could hear ppl talking/ car doors/ motors. I know this couldn't be helped I love kids I have them. I sometimes wish they would put couples away from other families. Not often but this time we really just needed a reset for a couple of days. For me it was more mental than anything lots of health/family stuff going on. Please update the lighting in the room. The touch lamps took me a min to figure them out. The bed was nice and soft. The comforter was dirty and had so many hairs on it. I checked the sheets and they were all clean. The rest of the room was clean also. The pool is heated and the outdoor area looked top of the line. If we ever go back i will take earplugs or my headphones so I can sleep...

I booked a week and no where that I could find that it stated your card would be charged for the first night as a hold. The only thing that I seen was that they would charge your card if you no showed. So my card was charged the first night as a "hold" and that it will not reverse for 3-5 business days depending on my bank. I cancelled my reservation due to the fact that this was not stated anywhere clearly that I could find, or I would not have booked in the first place. So I will still have to wait 3-5 business days for that hold to be released. I believe this is something that should be advised on their website. Misleading at best.

Response to owner. I did book it straight from your website. And once I reserved the booking, there was only a remark stating that my card would be charged if there was a no show for the first night. But, I would like to ask, do you feel people without "credit cards" and only debit cards should not be able to book hotels, etc.?, this is what I took from your comment “Debit cards which really shouldn’t be used to guarantee a reservation” ,not everyone believes in having credit cards or the interest rates that go along with them. AS for standard practice of hotels doing this, I'm sorry I do not know the standard practice of hotels and their policies, I do not run one.
