This is definitely NOT an RV Resort. First of all, use extreme caution when arriving, the sign is in a bad place and the entrance is extremely narrow for an RV. We called ahead 15 minutes before we arrived as requested to let them know we were almost there so we could be "guided" to our spot. Which, by the way, we were told there was a $25 fee for someone to help us. We were charged $30 and the person helping, while nice, was useless. His instructions were unclear and honestly, he got in the way of me helping my husband back in. There had been no site reserved for us, they just kind of looked around and stuck us someplace. We got hooked up and made our way to Lake Junaluska to walk around. The remnants of Hurricane Delta were heading towards us and the initial forecast indicated that there would be some rain, but not much else. As the track for the storm started to shift, the worst part of the rain and wind would be heading right towards us and we felt it would be unsafe for us to try to travel back to Middle Tennessee in the wind and rain, pulling a camper trailer. My husband spoke with the person in the office who offered a partial refund of our 2nd night if we decided not to stay. We took them up on their offer and left that afternoon to get ahead of the storm. The person my husband spoke with said to send an email and they would process the refund the following business day. He sent the email and heard nothing for more than 3 weeks. Today we get an email telling us that their cancellation policy does not apply to change of plans, weather, or sickness... So, essentially there is no cancellation. This is absurd. The site was way overpriced ($200 for 1 night) we were on their property for less than 24 hours and used limited power and water. I am disgusted with their lack of decency. They need to get on the same page, if the person in the front office is not aware of their policies, they have no business telling customers that a refund would be issued. We will most definitely not be staying here again and we would not...
Read moreWe looked online at these cottages before booking. The pictures of their cottages on the website are not at all accurate...or maybe they were many years ago. We were quite disappointed in the cottage, especially for the premium price we paid. All told, we paid over $1000 for those 2 nights....after all the fees and were even charged $25 for 'overflow' parking for my son's pickup truck and trailer. The overflow parking was an empty parking lot behind an old closed car wash! We booked a 3 bedroom 2 bath creekside cottage for my husband & me, our son and 2 grandsons for a 2 night stay. The cottage we booked was supposed to have had 1 king and 2 queen beds. There was no king bed. The 'master' bedroom had a queen bed and the window a/c unit in that room was so noisy it sounded like a diesel truck running. So you could either put up with the noise or have a quiet, but hot and stuffy bedroom. The door to the bedroom sticks and cannot be closed completely as is the same with the other 2 bedrooms. The beds creaked every time you moved the slightest bit. The cottage was very musty smelling. The window a/c unit in the living room worked, but only cooled the living area so we bought box fans to circulate the air to the bedrooms so we could sleep. We would have opened the windows but there were no screens in them. We did enjoy the back porch and the creek and our grandsons enjoyed the pool. For the money we paid, we did expect much better. We didn't mind that the cottage was older, but it surely needs some updating and repairs!! Very...

Stayed here 7/4-7/7 2019. If what you're expecting is a high end cabin experience, this isn't it. If you're expecting a moderate to decent stay in an older place that allows pets, then you're good. I'd probably guve it 3 stars but my wife wanted 4
Pros: Great location right in the middle of Maggie valley Beautiful stream behind cabins July 4th Maggie Valley fireworks are great, they shoot them over the mountain. Staff is nice. Allows pets After July 4th festivities it was mostly quiet. Pop's is across the street within a short walk (great food). Only about 6 miles from Waynesville to the east and 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway to the west.
Cons: Not the nicest Older cabins Hot and cold water in our shower.was mixed up (backwards) AC unit a tad flaky and had a hard time keeping up in heat of day
Didn't swim in the pool and it's pretty small, but the kids there seemed to enjoy. My wife loved it but it was a bit too "rustic" for me. Dogs didn't...
