I have NEVER wrote a bad review (that i can recall) about a restaurant, but the way i was treated this past week at this establishment is uncalled for. First, i came in with a party of 8. It was Thursday night around 5:00 and there were only three or four tables of customers so it was basically empty. We walked in the door and the person at the front desk ran to the back hollering "mask, mask"!!!!! After trying to figure out what was going on, we could only assume he was referring to us not wearing a mask?? Now, its a felon for me and my wife to wear mask while caring a loaded pistol. He didn't care sooooo, i complied even though i didn't agree..... OK, we scrambled for mask, two of the people with us had to leave and go back to their truck to find a mask, but we did comply. Next was the icing on the cake when we was sat down with 6 people at one table, and the other 2 across the isle way, 8 foot or so away, to another table. When asked why we could not all sit together we were rudely told that they only allow 6 per table due to government regulations. uuhhhh bull hokey i told him and he wanted to start a confrontation with me. We decided to say screw it we will eat and move on and just not come back as that is the way I am. I was over it, but then when we sat there for 15 minutes and stared at with no drink orders or menus, it was very obvious that they were not going to serve us.
We left and went to Legends and had a ball at karaoke night! Our bill at Legends was $218 and we tipped the waitress $50. This establishment must make too much money and didn't need ours??
Screw this place, go to Legends! Also, Brick house burgers was a great option as we went there the next night, and the following night went up the road about 6 miles to another Mexican restaurant and they loooovvveeedddd having us and it was super great! over the three day period i spent over $500 on food at the local business and was treated amazing everywhere else. The owner of the establishment needs to correct their customer relations and remember who pays their rent!
Never again,...
Read moreI never want to write a negative review, but our experience at Guayabitos has to be one of the worst in our hundreds of dining out experiences. It it didn't start that way, a friendly waiter came and slapped my husband on the back and welcome to us and hand prepared a top shelf Margarita for me at the table-- then, he disappeared. After a period of time a different waiter came and took our order. Then a different person delivered the meal to our table. We had indicated to the previous server that we were going to share a plate that night but the person who delivered the meal didn't know that and didn't bring an extra plate, so we asked for one.my selection on the combination plate was a chili relleno, and as I cut into it it was cold in the center! But no one ever came by to ask how our meal so I went to the front counter and stated to the hostess that my food was cold and she walked back to our table with us and just said well I can't give you a discount on that.. (I hadn't asked for a discount, I just wanted hot food)..No one came to check on our drinks. We had to flag down yet another server to get another beer for my husband. During the entire time we never saw our original waiter. When it was time to leave we were given a check with only a list of numbers on it without item descriptions and as we were trying to decipher it another server, apparently a manager came by and took that check from us and said "oh I forgot to add the extra shot for your top shelf margarita". He then returns with another check and sits down beside me and attempts to rudely explain all of the charges to me. For one shared plate dinner, two beers and a margarita our total that night was almost $50. Terrible service, cold food, a feeling of being "ripped off".. we will...
Read moreWent last night to celebrate my daughter's anniversary. Wanted to have a special evening with the fam. The daughter picked the place bc of the reviews. Took almost an hour for our food to come to the table, and when it did arrive, it was dried out from sitting under the heat lamp. We ordered appetizers: guacamole and cheese dip. Both were runny like water. The quac looked like something that came out of my grandson's diaper, and the cheese dip came from a can; to add further insult, the dip was cold. Runny cold cheese dip? 🤮
SIL ordered fajitas - not sizzling and the shrimp was so dried out it looked like jerky. I ordered the Carna Sada, same deal. Daughter ordered a taco salad. It was the appearance of her salad that made me realize our food had been sitting under a heat lamp the whole time. The edges of the tortilla shell bowl were "burnt", the lettuce was wilted, and the sour cream had melted into the salad.
When I told the server how dissatisfied I was with everything, she gave me the excuse, "We're really busy." My response was, "So you want me to pay for garbage bc you're busy? Have a nice day."
That was our first time going and definitely the last.
It's pretty sad that Taco Bell would have been better... but there are definitely better places to have Mexican that is more "authentic" than this place in Maggie... I don't get how they are so popular when they're so terrible at...
