Very nice! A little rundown but clean and safe. Staff was very friendly, the continental breakfast was good, the view of the mountains was gorgeous. The breakfast area was small, but there was an place you could eat outside that was very beautiful with flowers all around. There were several lounge areas outside. The pool was the largest I've seen at a hotel and the jacuzzi was nice and hot. Most of the other visitors were older couples and biker groups. The pool windows need to be deep cleaned and the vents sprayed with rustoleum. There were a few unpainted boards. A little bit of effort and it would be much more appealing. Some of the halls smelled faintly of BO as you walk past. I'm guessing the carpets need to be deep cleaned. Our room was clean but smelled very faintly of smoke, but not anything you noticed after a minute. The mini fridge was the smallest I've seen at a hotel. It was workable but a little annoying. We enjoyed the local hikes and walking up and down the boardwalk in front of Maggie valley ice cream. The Mexican food close by was also really really good. Very nice place to stay, we will be back.

Our room was very nice! We got 2 bedroom room for 2 nights and it had plenty of room With a mini fridge, comfy chair, desk and chair. Bathroom is very nice, the only issue was a small stain in the tub but I think it was just a little construction damage, no big deal. Water pressure was nice too! Breakfast (7am-10am) had plenty options with waffles, fruit, scrambled eggs, omelette, sausage, bagel, etc. employees are very helpful and kind. Pretty kind friendly hotel, walls are pretty thin but we didn’t have any issue. Our hallway was just remodeled and they are working on another hallway remodel but there is no loud noises at all. We loved the pool, not super deep but GREAT FOR KIDS. With a hot tub with the awesome jets. Nice, spacious room, comfy bed Breakfast was delicious Employees were VERY kind and wanted to go above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Very close to everything

We stayed here to catch the fall colors on the Blue Ridge Parkway. They also held an annual Arts & Crafts Fair which happened to be less than a minute walk away. Nothing extravagant. The location ended up being perfect though. Across the street to the left is an old motel and Pop’s (don’t recommend) and across the street to the right is a strip mall with a fantastic Italian restaurant! There’s also a phenomenal chocolate shop. Yum. Prices were ridiculous. Almost $300 a night but most places were. Even the run down motels were insanely inflated. Perhaps it was because of the fair and time of year. Admittedly the room looks like the pictures on their website. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. When the mountains are calling this is an ok location.

I had a really tough time getting to my room. Came in around 1 pm, asked to check in early. There were no rooms ready, left my number so they could let me know if or when it would be ready. Nobody called which is fine. I understand people can be busy. I was at an event and would not have been able to come back right away anyhow. I came back around 9:30 pm and there was nobody at the desk. Waited over 20 minutes, yelled for the clerk, called the property while standing on the lobby, walked around searching for the clerk, etc. I noticed on the security feed a man pacing in a hallway wearing a dark blue shirt. I walked around until I saw them and then waved them to come with me. Eventually they came toward the front. I asked this person if they worked up front and they held their hand up toward the front door. I told them I needed my room key before I left the lobby but I needed to talk to who was working up front. They laughed and said nothing. I then asked again if they worked here. They nodded and said yes. I asked them if they worked up front. They said yes. I asked them if they would check me in and they shook their head and said they were booked up. I explained I had a room booked and came to collect a key earlier but I was at an event all day and was coming back to get my key. They asked my name then told me I did not have a reservation without even looking at the computer. They then told me someone else's name and said this your real name right? I didn't know who the other name was. When I repeated my name they smiled and said we have no vacancies. This process repeated itself for some time until I begged them to look me up by my name and showed them my ID. They saw I had a reservation and slid over a key on the counter. No explanation, no apology, and they laughed when I asked what the confusion was for. I wish this was an isolated incident. 10:30 am the next morning I am trying to check out and nobody is in the front office. I had to go find a maid to go find the clerk. I am not sure what is confusing about being a front desk clerk and staying at the front desk. I traveled for business for years and never waited that long in my life just to get my room and just to check out. The guy that worked the night of October 18th should stop laughing at customers, stay at the desk or at least in the office which is in ear shot of the front door, and refusing to answer questions. The day clerk on October 19th needs some similar education about staying at the front desk where they are supposed to be. This town has several hotels and plenty of cute cabins. They don't have the monopoly on hotels to act like that. I am thinking when I am in town visiting family I just need a cabin...

Ordered and paid for one room with two Queen size beds. Got one room and two double beds. When making the reservation the day before I asked specifically if the pool was heated and the Hot tub/jacuzzi was working. " I specifically asked this because I stayed another comfort in and they said it was working and checked in the next day and it had been broken for over a month." According to the front desk when checking in early the lady said it's been out a few days and another guest also stated this. I called the front desk around 10:45 pm and the lady at the front desk told me it was working yesterday then broke today and the manager didn't get back to them about the issue. So believe what you want about the issue. I have one more night here it had better be working when I'm done hiking all day tomorrow because that is the only reason I made reservations at this outdated and run down hotel. Oh and if you want to have dinner anywhere in this town you had better be in the restaurant before 7pm because that's when the few we actually found that Google says are here close. Sunday Update: Was told by Both the day and Night shift front desk that the hot tub was working Friday but hasn't worked since. Monday update: Finally got the truth from the morning front desk that the Hot tub has been out since the Health Department told them to close it due to not having a screen over the intake because long hair can be caught up in it. Since then they can't find a company that can add a screen. Which I still find that extremely hard to believe especially since the same hot tub at the other Choice brand hotel right down the street has theirs open with a screen on it.. Quite upsetting that I still can't get the honest truth out of...

The outside appearance looks like it's been kept up with and there was even a gentleman out there everyday blowing away the leaves in the parking lot which was very nice. The rooms were clean and we had a beautiful view of the mountains from the window. The staff was probably the best part of our stay. The morning and afternoon ladies were such a delight to talk to and were more than happy to help. In our stay the heated pool wasn't heated at all. We were more interested in the hot tub so we didn't say anything. On our last day a lady made a comment and the afternoon staff came straight to the pool and started inspecting it and noticed a problem. She was on-top of it and seemed genuinely concerned. There was also a younger lady training and she seemed very nice as well. They gave us a Blue Ridge Parkway Waterfall Tour Sheet that even had step by step directions from the hotel. If you stay at this location you MUST do this, we spent our whole last day viewing the scenic tour and it was beautiful.

There were only 2 Cons I came across..

The first one was that whenever anyone shuts their bedroom door it slams so hard it shakes the entire room. I'm a light sleep and I was constantly woken by this all morning everyday we stayed. The second one was the breakfast items could be improved. I really didn't eat much at breakfast other than cereal due to the taste of the other items. I would love to return to this location next year, I'll just have to remember to bring my own breakfast.

Overall this was a wonderful stay and I'll be recommending this hotel to all family and friends who visit the area. The location is a perfect middle from Asheville...
