IceLand Ice Arena — Attraction in Maine Township

Part of the Niles Park District, IceLand is a public ice rink. Skate rentals are available for a reasonable fee and, thankfukly, the floors (including restrooms) are skate-blade friendly. I have been here with my children for public open-rink skating and have found the ice smooth and well-maintained. Those skating are a mix of young families, people practicing figure skating, and people skating laps for exercise. We happened upon this spot when we attempted to go to the Skatium and it was closed for a private event. What a pleasant surprise! The rink wasn’t too packed and the price was right. Everyone enjoyed themselves skating around and when we needed a break, there was tons of space on the bleachers to rest our barking dogs. In addition to the indoor rink, there’s also an outdoor rink. We were there today for my grandsons hockey game and the officiating and management of this arena was deplorable they have taught a team of 8 and 9 year olds the true essence of horrible sportsmanship I was ashamed at the way they treated our team they should be ashamed of there selves our boys left feeling horrible I would not go to this arena for any activity the have demonstrated the true meaning...
