
Part of the Niles Park District, IceLand is a public ice rink. Skate rentals are available for a reasonable fee and, thankfukly, the floors (including restrooms) are skate-blade friendly. I have been here with my children for public open-rink skating and have found the ice smooth and well-maintained. Those skating are a mix of young families, people practicing figure skating, and people skating laps for exercise. Read moreWe happened upon this spot when we attempted to go to the Skatium and it was closed for a private event. What a pleasant surprise! The rink wasn’t too packed and the price was right. Everyone enjoyed themselves skating around and when we needed a break, there was tons of space on the bleachers to rest our barking dogs. In addition to the indoor rink, there’s also an outdoor rink.
