Niles Grill Diner — Restaurant in Maine Township

Nothing big to write home about that's for sure... I mean unless this place has changed from its recent advertisement of how popular it is, it just looks like it's on its last leg. The waffle batter is the same as the pancake batter which is disappointing. And the waffle really had no taste. They have no whipped butter which if anyone knows whipped butter is much more better with pancakes and waffles and French toast. Their coffee is just downright horrible. My all meat-lovers omelette wasn't really much to send word to mother that it was the best. A lot of fat pieces of bacon, plenty of sausage, but not a fluffy omelette. Just your basic 'The Cook's been cooking for fifty years and that's what you're going to get' type of meal. 🤦🤷☹️ The hash brown potatoes were actual potatoes and they made himself the way I like them which was really nice, the potatoes were the best part of the meal because they were actual potatoes and not hash brawns.😘 The prices are reasonable, but I can go to a dozen places and get better food for the same prices. I did go in the morning so maybe the afternoon is a different atmosphere I don't know. I only went to the place because how it was advertised, but again not. But I'm only here to give how I felt the food was and that's all. I was really hoping the place was going to be as advertised. Maybe I'll go back and get a different breakfast or lunch. I did my best to be honest...

Ok guys I went the reviews on this place and expected a nice decent breakfast/lunch spot. That was not the case. First of the staff is great and the cook is extremely friendly. It does have that old school grill vibe but the food was horrible. I had the meatloaf and it was defiantly a mystery meat. It came with cold mash potatoes and everything was thrown in the microwave. Chili and Kids chicken tenders were just ok. Prices were high for the quality of food that was served. Not to mention flys everywhere. It's definitely a place for older locals as I noticed the two people in there were addressed by name. I went during lunch so I would hope breakfast might be better. It’s time for the owner to hang up the hat. Poor tasting coffee, poor tasting hash browns (I suspect fried in bad oil), eggs not prepared as requested. My dining companion ordered a side of bacon when the waitress inquired the cook about it he said sometimes they miss things on the ticket. Mind you, they were not busy. Shameful really.

I didn’t eat the hash browns after the first bite and after taste. This place is held together by there clan of regulars but I suspect not much new traffic and if there is, not repeated.

The atmosphere, while nostalgic smells like your grandmas bungalow basement in the city. Think mildew and mold.
