Wonderful little hidden lake. There’s an easy one-hour hike around the lake that starts on a small trail just above the playground or at the far end of the marina. Easy & free parking. Relatively easy to maintain the trail. 80% single track, but also on camp roads and thru a campground. There’s a rope swing into the water at the west end. I kept my dog on the leash near the start and end, but otherwise he was off leash and we saw hardly anyone. Free launch sites for paddle boards and boats. Picnic tables, shaded grass, large charcoal grills, fire pits & plenty of sweet fishing nooks as well. Probably boondocks camping back the dirt...
Read moreOne of the underrated lakes in Mammoth Lakes. We were planning on hiking the Gull Lake Loop, but unable to locate signs. We eventually found signs that said "Trail" after walking for about 10 minutes already lol. I guess there were other mini and longer trails within that loop. Hope they improve on their signage.
Anyways, the view was amazing! Half of the trail we took didn't have shade, but the Fisherman Trail had it. We also passed by swings that a group of family was using. Looked fun, but we didn't really plan on...
