It has been a goal to stay at June Lake Pines for quite a while. Opportunity for a holiday weekend finally came. I bypassed my usual booking service and made my reservation directly with the owners. Their website does offer plenty of information about the property. Check-in was very easy. I was notified, as promised, when Cabin 7* would be available. The cabin was clean and ready for my friend and I when we arrived. I was impressed with how well-stocked the kitchen was with pretty much everything a person needs for meal prep and cooking. It is clear that the family who owns and operates June Lake Pines puts their hearts into ensuring their guests have a pleasant stay. I am grateful that the owners have not over-modernized the cabins. I expected to feel like I was in the Sierra enjoying the glory that is June Lake Loop in an atmosphere that matches the setting. That is exactly what June Lake Pines delivered. For that, I am thankful. It is for reasons like this that I will always prefer to stay in family-owned lodging that directly benefit from the property income vs. corporate-owned properties that only view their guests as a source of revenue. The sense of community around the Loop sets this place apart. If you are looking for a small-town experience, you can't go wrong with June Lake Loop. June Lake Pines is within walking distance to a variety of food sources, shops, and an exceptional range of recreation opportunities. *Please be aware that each cabin is unique and may not resemble what you see in any cabin...
Read moreI’ve always wanted to stay in June Lake and lucked out getting a room over the weekend booking very last minute. I ended up with their most basic room #9 which to my surprise was absolutely perfect for my dog and I and frankly would be totally fine for a couple. The pictures didn’t do the room justice in my opinion. It was also spotless when we got there. It’s a motel style room and sandwiched between rooms 8 & 10 vs the rest being more of a stand alone cabin style. The walls are a bit thin so if you have a dog sensitive to noise that might be a problem I could tell the neighbors were struggling a bit with their dogs and being able to hear me and my pup so maybe opt for another room if you’re traveling with your furry friend if they’re bit barky. The location of June Lake Pines is absolutely perfect. Both June Lake Marina AND Gull Lake Marina are walkable and you’re right on the main strip of town. To my surprise the room was ready early and I got a text letting me know. Check in and check out are so so easy, there are a few communal areas outside and bbqs and decent amount of parking if you get there early enough otherwise there seemed to be plenty on the street even for a weekend. I would absolutely...
Read moreWe stayed at June Lake Pines Cottages with our family (two small kids) for two nights, and absolutely loved it! The place has such a cozy, nostalgic charm, you really feel like you’re tucked away in a quiet mountain town, but still close to everything you need.
The cottage was super clean and had everything we needed: a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and even a little fireplace that made the evenings feel extra special.
The location couldn’t be better, just a short walk to June Lake Marina, restaurants, a general store. We spent the day exploring the lakes and trails, and in the evening, we grilled outside with the kids.
The whole vibe is very family-friendly and peaceful. It felt like a little mountain escape without having to “rough it.” We’d definitely come back again, it’s the kind of place you want to revisit every year.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable, and charming place to stay in June...
