I can't understand the rave reviews this place is getting. Let's start with the food. I would have given 2 stars, but the servers response gave them a 1. The chips are amazing and my husband enjoyed his taco plate. Since there was no crunchy taco option I ordered the Taquitos. I was in the mood for something crunchy. When they arrived they were sitting in a pool of flavored water. Looked like it was from the wet lettuce. I asked for something to pour it off into as I wanted crunchy not soggy. I did that and still the taquitos were near inedible. They were crunchy on the outside but couldn't be eaten through or even cut. The chicken inside was incredibly dry and flavorless. Just dry chicken that couldn't be chewed, let alone swallowed. Thats not the worst. Things happen, right? When I told the server the problem she argued, "that was why it was in the sauce" and continued on with no apologies. That was not sauce! It was no more than flavorless flavored water. They should have cooked the chicken in a sauce! I guess I was supposed to have accepted that the soggy taquitos on the outside were to make up for the chokingly dry chicken on the inside. I held that the cook on the chicken was very bad. I was never rude to her, just as a matter of fact and still no effort to fix the problem or apologies. I can forgive a bad night or mistake in the kitchen, but the server's attitude was completely...
Read moreI had missed the opportunity to eat here in the past so this spot was a goal for this visit to June Lake Loop. I was craving chicken enchiladas, so I walked on over to place my order. I was informed that they do not serve chicken enchiladas. I decided on the carne asada and is what I ordered. The server suggested chili relleno. I thanked her and said I'd stay with the carne asada. The food was prepared quicky and I was on my way back to the hotel to eat. When I opened the container, I did not see carne asada. I saw chili relleno. I am not exactly sure as to why this happened as I was very clear about my order. I already had a long day and was not in the mood to walk back. The chili relleno turned out to be amazing. The fresh tortillas along with the sauce made this a pretty impressive meal. The beans have good flavor and the rice was fresh. It may not have been what I ordered but ended up being an enjoyable...
Read moreI am a little late in posting my review for this OUTSTANDING restaurant, but I am thrilled to have dined here on June 15th after a strenuous hike up to Horsetail Falls with friends. Kat was super friendly and was really hustling as she multi-tasked while providing us with exceptional service. We had chips, salsa, guacamole, albondigas soup, salad, chile relleno, and our friends had tacos and a chicken dish. All were super fresh, large portions and the croutons, YUM! I don't normally eat croutons, but these are quite good. We never expected to find such delicious, well crafted Mexican food on our trip, but if you're in the area, or traveling, this place is a MUST! Generous pours on the drinks, huge portions, excellent service and fair prices. SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS PLACE and so much better than most any Mexican restaurant in or...
