UPDATE AFTER 6 MONTHS AT BOTTOM Friendly Staff and clean showroom.
Lilah helped us out and was the perfect amount of helpful and not pushy. She is patient, professional, knowledgeable about products and eager to provide a comfortable and smooth shopping experience. She easily picked up on features we found important (great listener) and was able to guide us to the items that meet those requirements.
Prices are reasonable and the warranty is generous. Thanks for the great experience, we're looking forward to posting an update with photos after the delivery, then later about the durability and comfort of these couches.
*UPDATE: When we got the couch, we immediately noticed that after installing the three pieces, the backs do not all "line up" perfectly. The backs can either align at the front of the couch, or back, but not both. Same with the middle and end recliner not matching when used.
The center recliner buttons are very uncomfortable to reach. The buttons and charger on the chase lounge got very hot and stayed that way until the USB charger stopped working. The buttons still work though.
I did call to complain and they offered to replace the couch at no charge, right away. Also offered to exchange it for a different model. This is the reason I'm not taking more stars away, they offered to do right by my purchase by replacing it.
However, we can't stand the thought of this "Mostly perfect" couch going to a landfill. The cost to ship and transport another couch seemed ecologically inefficient. So we decided to keep the couch as is.
However- yesterday our real worry came to life. There is no internal mechanical "safety off" for if something is blocking the recliner. If someone leans on the button unknowingly there could be a dangerous situation. This couch has poor placement of the buttons. This has happened often with us, the dog laying on the couch and twice with guests, who unknowingly leaned on the button and were startled by the recliner activating! This seems like no big deal.... This last time--- the dog was laying between the couch and coffee table, and when the recliner foot went up, it smooshed the dog between the very heavy coffee table, and the moving couch. (like that scene in the star wars compactor) The dog is okay, luckily the table moved enough so the dog popped/fell under the foot rest as it rose, and he escaped. My friend didn't know what triggered the footrest and didn't know how to stop it. I stood there and couldn't help because it all happened so fast! For that reason, I worry about a people (especially a toddler) finding the buttons and hurting themselves (or others) in the same way.
I'm sure if we called and asked nicely, they would allow us to come pick a different model, we just don't have time. We are thankful to have a lovely couch to laze on every day. Just wanted to make sure people with pets and kids have a chance to notice the buttons on "Modern Farmhouse" 106'' Power Reclining 3 Piece before purchasing.
Also, do not try to shimmy the furniture with your leg/hip, even just a few inches. It's heavy! (I'm looking at you, "I can do it myself"ers!) Just get a friend to help.
(Maybe the design staff can make some improvements from these suggestions.) Thanks for the...
Read moreI don’t normally do the whole reviews thing but I don’t think ever been more frustrated in my entire life. I went to bobs to get a couch and the color I wanted wasn’t available so they told me they had this other color available and I’d be able to get it that following weekend so I chose to go through with it. Fast forwards it’s the night before the scheduled delivery and around 8pm they call me to tell me they don’t have all the pieces of the couch available. I tried to explain to their customer service that I didn’t even purchase this couch because it was what I wanted I got it because I was told they had everything available and they told me there wasn’t anything they could do. I was pretty frustrated but eventually I just said okay whatever I guess I could wait one more week for the rest of it. Fast forward it’s supposed to be delivered on Friday so I call them Thursday morning and ask to confirm that the last piece would be delivered Friday as scheduled. They confirmed it and the delivery time and everything. So I stayed home on Friday expecting it to come but I didn’t receive a call or anything from the delivery drivers and i tried to check the status of the couch a few times but for whatever reason it wasn’t allowing me to check the delivery status. Eventually it’s around 30 minutes before the end of the delivery window so I give them a call. I was then informed that my delivery was cancelled. I asked them why didn’t anyone tell me and what happened with the delivery and if there was a way I could still receive it today. They told that the other piece wasn’t available still and that I’d have to wait another week for their earliest delivery. I just told them I wanted a refund and they can have back the pieces they gave me. It’s not like it really matters but I’ll never buy a thing from this company ever again this was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever gone through. I had to miss work and cancel plans just for them to not even deliver the things that they confirmed I would get multiple times. There were more issues as far as when I called customer service and when the delivery drivers came to my house for the initial piece and told me since there wasn’t an apartment number in address they couldn’t deliver it to my door but they had reassured me in store multiple times that the delivery guys would bring the couch inside my apartment. All in all it was extremely frustrating. I hope other people have better experiences with them cause everything was...
Read moreI've been a Bob's Discount Furniture customer for over 10 years, bought multiple items in the past and I can confidently say, their quality has gone down hill, sadly. If you are 300 LB or over don't bother buying anything, it's going to break or bend, and their Goof Proof process is slow and infuriating. I bought a higher end recliner sectional, made sure that the moving pieces are metal, not wooden, since our family had a bad experience with a wooden couch. However, I still have over 10 year old functioning power recliners, metal base, that we love and look just like new. So, I thought it would make sense to buy a sectional with a sturdy metal base, big mistake. It hasn't even been a year and it has all kids of issues, one recliner broke, the other one no longer has a functioning head rest and the other one, the USB port no longer works. I didn't want to use the Goof Proof on either the USB port nor the head rest, since they happened in that order, and were not a big deal; so I used it in the bent&broken power recliner. I submitted the claim since early January, and just to have a guy come take a look took a month and several follow ups, then, he determined it needed a part, he submitted his findings, then a week after I got confirmation that the part shipped. Now, when the part ships, they CLOSE the claim and the customer is supposed to call in to schedule a tech to come back and fix it. My item's part NEVER arrived, so, after almost 2 weeks of the "shipment" got an email with a voucher that I had to call the store and re-order the recliner, and schedule the delivery. It's been a little over 2 MONTHS. Do Better! Fix your process and don't cut corners on your furniture. We don't buy cheap furniture, it's top of the line, why is it built like your economic tiers? I own over 10 year old furniture from your store with reclining functionality, don't come and tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. Take care of your loyal customers and improve your claims process.
Since I can't respond to your answer, I am editing my review to let you know that I read the Goof T&C, and you need to re-read my entire review. Your process is inefficient and the quality of your furniture has gone down hill. That is the summary, as is evident that you didn't actually read the whole review. Comparing an over 10 year old recliner that is in perfect condition vs. a new recliner not even a year old, is apparent how the quality materials have been replaced. Lost a...
