This place is so wonderful, if you have a hobby, they have everything you need for it! I love to paint and my dad and I went here to pass the time while waiting for a movie. We bought some black paint so I can finish my painting of my dog I started a while ago but never had the time or the paint to finish! But now thanks to this store I finally have it. My dad and I goofed off looking at all the cute decorations, and then we also had this strange moment in the leftover Easter decorations aisle thinking about the passage of time and how it never stops. It truly just goes on and on and on and on. And so I look at him and I say, "Yeah and do you ever think about how like right now, this moment will be gone for ever like everything Im saying is gone and in the past even if its just 3 seconds ago." How we are forever chasing time and trying to control it and slow it down but you can't it just keeps going. There is no break or pause button between April and May it truly just, keeps going. And soon well be in the check out line and then in the car and then in the movie theater and then well be home and the day will be all over and then its monday. And my dad was like "I dont like sundays because they remind me of mondays and I hate waking up for work." and i was like yeah but secretly thinking we should really savor every moment we can out of this life because its all so fragile and its going going gone, one moment youre in a hobby lobby with your dad buying black paint and the next youre graduating from college and getting married and reflecting back on that day as a teenager when youre much much much older wishing you'd maybe bought that paint a...
Read moreThe 2 stars are only because The employee in fabric was great, otherwise would only be 1. whoever does the merchandising and planogram for the store really needs to check the items before posting signage because the pricing is extremely misleading. We bought 4 items, all wall decor, and all of the shelves around it were all wall decor and home decor as well. Every display had a sign that said home decor and wall decor 50% off. When we got to the door we realized only one of the items rang up 50% while the rest were full priced. We walked over to the customer service desk to ask the cashier why it didnt ring up like the first one and were told it was a “gift” item and not home decor. Let them know it was surrounded by all of the other home decor items and every sign over there said home decor/wall decor. He just said yeah no its a gift so you dont get it. I asked why it would be over there and he just shrugged, so i said then you might want to have someone change up the signage over there because everything on those shelves is labeled as home decor and with the signs its very misleading to which he just stared at us with a blank look. Im not the type to cause a scene so we just walked out and kept the items as is, but the customer service was terrible, the attitude from the cashier and lack of empathy or understanding was appalling. Ive worked in retail and customer service for over 12 years both as a cashier and as a supervisor, and have never experienced service like that. I was given a quote for a frame; from an associate with a name starting with the letter 'V'; where she pushed unnecessary embellishments to the frame job. Michaels was having a sale; so, I asked if they could price match Michael's for a comprable frame. She told me that, if I got a quote from Michaels; they would honor it. So; I then proceeded to receive a quote for Michaels; which was considerably lower in price; than hobby lobby. After driving back to hobby lobby and presenting the quote; I was then told the quote wasn't good enough and that it had to indicate an itemized list for everything. I wish this was indicated to me at the beginning prior to going to Michaels. I then asked to speak with the manager. I was told three separate times that the manager would not do anything. Finally, she called the manager; but, I never actually got to speak with him. She told me he couldn't do anything without the itemized list. In the end; I went back to Michaels and had the job taking care of there. I actually got a much nicer frame for less money. This hobby lobby location's framing department has permanently lost my business, and i'm especially disappointed that I never was able to speak with the manager. Hobby lobby you get two...
