Never going to this place again. I've been a few times in the past. The soup they serve is always luke warm, and the salad dressing is gross. The main course is decent, but over priced. And I've never been crazy about their sushi, and the service isn't very good. But the thing that finally put the nail in the coffin for me was my experience last night. There was a woman there, who I can only assume was over served at their bar waiting for a table. If not, then she came "walking in" barely under her own power. At which point she should have been denied service, but was still seated anyway. Not five minutes after being seated she throws up all over herself, then stands up, heads to the bathroom, and falls on me, covering myself, my meal, and the woman next to me in her vomit. While I was in the bathroom cleaning up, the waitress offers to box up my food! To which my wife replies, their's no way he's eating that! So they offered to cook me a new meal, and comp my old one. Great problem solved! Then they offered desserts to go no charge! Even better! The food, desserts, and check all come. They have not comped my meal like they promised, and they did not comp the meal of the other woman who got thrown up on. By this point I just wanted out of there so I could go home and shower, so I paid the bill and left. When I get home I find that some dope put a soup in my to go bag and didn't warn me! So now I have soup spilled on my jacket, my back seat, and some important paperwork I had in my car! After shouting a few expletives, I head inside to shower. After my shower I decide the cheesecake my wife and I got to go would hit the spot, I was wrong. One had clearly been grabbed and mashed by someone's fingers. And the other was like chewing a sponge. So with that said, I will not...
Read moreI will start this off with stating that my fiancé and I have been coming here for years… I personally have loved masa from the start but after our experience tonight I am extremely unimpressed and disappointed. For starters we were seated and asked for drinks and my fiancé, who has an extreme gluten allergy asked for a GF menu (which we have received every time in the past).. the waitress was extremely rude to my fiancé and snapped at him and said “we don’t do those anymore .. you can go up to front if you want that”
My fiancé was very put off by this interaction but I encouraged him to look past it since we normally have good experiences and hoping the meal would get better.
Thankfully we had another waitress take over and she was very sweet.
I got my usual which came out great. My fiancé didn’t trust that they would prepare his hibachi gluten free like normally after the initial waitress’ interaction so to play it safe he chose to get sushi instead. He specifically asked for gluten free soy sauce for his sushi and he ate his whole meal and he could barely make it home . He felt so sick and bloated. He is now going to be down and out for the rest of the night and is traveling tomorrow so he is not impressed. We’ve been regulars that have been coming here for years but unfortunately I don’t see us coming back after our experience tonight. It’s a shame because they do have great food but between the poor/rude initial service by the wait staff and the complete lack of care for food allergy accommodations is concerning and disappointing. I hope bringing this to light will reflect on more attention to detail to food allergies because some can be more fatal than what my fiancé...
Read moreWe have spent 2.5 hours in the restaurant. There were only two more tables occupied, 8 customers in total in the whole restaurant. It took 35 minutes to get our orders. It took another 40 minutes for the cook to come to the hibachi. The other table ordered something from the kitchen that did not come for 2 hours regardless how many times they reminded the waitress.
Both the cook, waitress and the manager were not interested in the customers. The customers in three tables were talking to each other about the missing service. We were making jokes not to ask too complicated requests so that we can get our food as soon as possible and leave.
When the other table asked about what happened to their food after 2 hours, waitress told them that she heard them saying they no longer wanted it. That conversation did not happen of course. She told them the food is ready standing. They asked to get it as to go. It took another 30 minutes to receive the "ready" to go box. She was not even apologetic.
The cook did not understand English very well and kept making mistakes. Even though our order was specific and written in the receipt, he cooked totally different dish.
Whenever we need chopsticks, refills and so on, it took 10 minutes to locate the waitress and another 10 minutes for her to bring what we asked.
Food was mediocre.
I can go on but it does not even worth my time to review this restaurant any further. I am surprised about the positive reviews. It sounds like a different place. I wonder if there was change of management or if the problem is specific to the day of a week. In any case, I...
