This vet office staff is great and space is clean but to have a good experience depends on which Vet you see. I’ve had a great experience with Dr. Gilliam - she is amazing, kind, thorough, and you can tell she really cares. My last visit with Dr. Bailey is the reason I’m giving 3 stars, long story short: the visit was not great with the Dr., and the PCR results to see if my puppy has ringworm came in the day after our visit but she didn’t call with results for a week after AND my puppy was positive for ringworm! For a test trying to rule out ringworm which is highly infectious, to sit on the results for 6 days when the situation is time sensitive really rubs me the wrong way. If you’re that busy where you can’t call paying customers with sick puppies to give them results that affect their lives with a potential infectious skin condition like ringworm - feels like a money grab without the care for my puppy.
More detail: Dr. Bailey she came into our appt without any pleasantries, rushing through, and got frustrated with my puppy because she was too wiggly or because I was holding her the wrong way when she was trying to grab a sample from her eyelid to test for ringworm. She went to get the vet tech to create a quote and she slammed the door behind her. I assumed she’d come back so I can ask her follow up questions and she never did. I’ve been waiting a week for results only to find out they came in the day after our appt. Called and emailed two days in a row and the receptionist said she’d call me to explain - she called me a week after results were in and my puppy is positive...

The doctors are phenomenal. I've been working with Dr. Bailey and Dr. Higashi and wow. I feel like I hit the jackpot. My cat and I completely trust them and we are fully confident in their care and their approach. They are patient, kind, available, and treat us like VIPs. We never feel rushed or that we're simply a transaction. They really want what's best for you and your pet and they take the time to explain everything so you can make the best decisions. I can't believe how lucky we are to be in their care.
Front staff is 99% positive. I felt I had to push through one somewhat brusque & bark-ish experience but the rest of the staff are full of smiles and warmth. It's clear they know the regulars and it's lovely to witness.
There's a process for everything and my only nit-pick is that I wish they would communicate what that process is, instead of assuming we'll figure it out (e.g. they'll call your name when it's time to pay, pick up meds, etc.) But once you know, it's fine.
The techs and all the other support staff are dreams. Super loving and warm. I'd love to work here.
Lastly, the office is a well-oiled machine. Everyone knows what they're doing. I highly recommend Bay Animal Hospital as they are exceptional.
Thank you,...
Read moreDr Goodell saved our dogs life. She is a 9 and a half year old female fawn boxer. She was off and I knew it and regular vet wasn’t giving me the answers I wanted. I researched extensively and found Dr Goodell. We went in for her physical and to explain of her lethargy and Dr found a heart arrhythmia that other vets had missed. Now it was a tricky one to hear admittedly by Dr Goodell and the cardiologist too but Dr Goodell heard it first. The Drs genuine curiosity and care is why, I remember thinking he’s listening to her heart for way longer than any other vet, that’s why he heard it. DCM is becoming epidemic in large breed dogs and he was all over it. Forever grateful. Olivia ended up being in the very early stages of heart failure, she spent two nights hospitalized and is now on heart meds and doing pretty well. She will be with us for Christmas and we are going on 3 months of borrowed time. I can’t say thank you enough. I read stories of other people loosing dogs suddenly to dcm and it breaks your heart. Now Olivia gets to be an old lady and have some awesome senior time. Not have some tragic life ending event. We are...
