I was not really happy with my experience at this theater. I'm an AMC gold member and used it quite a bit before I moved to this area. So this was my first visit to the Manhattan location. Comparing it to other AMC theaters that I've been to, this one really does not belong carrying the AMC name! We went to see Napoleon and the walls are so thin that there were parts of the movie that we could not hear because the movie in the next theater was so loud. Also, the seats are extremely uncomfortable. I'm used to the normal AMC theater seats that have the adjustable controls. And the main reason I like those is due to a disability. I like to sit up as straight as possible and the seats at this theater want to recline whether you want it or not. Also the concession area was absolutely filthy. It was disgusting and that's putting it kindly. There were plenty of staff standing around talking to each other and they seem to be having a very good time. I don't know why somebody couldn't pick up a cleaning cloth and a bucket of bleach water and go over there and maybe wipe things down every so often and most AMC locations that I have been to they do that they have somebody that's constantly monitoring the concession area and the self-service area to make sure that it's clean. Upon going up to get my order the clerk or stamp or whatever didn't say hello. Didn't say thank you. Didn't say drop dead lol. Nothing absolutely nothing. No smile. No expression. Just here's your stuff. Get out of my face. Kind of attitude. It was the same way when we went to scan our barcode for the tickets. The young man had no expression and didn't say anything other than which direction our theater was in. Afterwards I had spoken with one of the management staff, a young lady and I expressed my concern about the fact that it was difficult to watch our movie because of the sounds from the next theater. And she had stated to me that AMC regulates which theater they should put which movie in and that comes from the AMC corporate office. I don't know how much of that I believe. Also, this theater seems to cater more to families with children. Must have animation movies at 10:30 in the morning and that's the only time of the day that they have a showing. I mean when you're in your 50s and you're going to see a movie that's R rated why is the only showtime at 10:30 in the morning? We didn't really want to see the movie that we went to see, but I had some free passes that were going to expire at the end of the year and didn't want them to go to Waze. So we just picked a movie that was at a reasonable time of the day and even that was 315. I'm used to going to the movies in the evening after dinner. And when you look at history dating is usually dinner and a movie. So you go to dinner and a movie. Well most people don't go to dinner at 10:30 in the morning so I guess this is breakfast and a movie. Overall impression of theater was not positive. I have not checked out the Salina location yet, but I think driving the extra half hour might be worth it in the future. Depending upon the quality of that theater. I guess...
Read moreWe went to see 2 movies tonight (5-7) the first one we ordered food. It took about 20 minutes to get the food. The kids meal comes with the main entree fries, fruit and a drink. They never brought it out with the rest of the food. My fiancés food was fine and then the chicken meal I ordered didn't look like the description and I took one bite and couldn't eat it. Worst thing I've ever tasted (literally)! Logan took our order and a lady brought the food out. We had asked for BBQ sauce when ordering and didn't get it so we asked the lady that brought our food to bring us some. When she came back I told her there was no way I could eat that chicken meal, it was gonna make me puke! She asked if I wanted to change it out for something else. I said yes (I was gonna switch it out for the classic burger meal instead). She left to get Logan. Oh and let me add our total was around $32. We gave him $40 and he said he would be right back with our change. We didn't see him again until after the lady went to get him and after waiting about 10 min I ended up pushing the service button. When he came back in he gave my fiancé his change and said that he spoke to the manager and that he said that since the order was already placed and served there was nothing they could do. So he offered a to go container so I could take it home. I'm sorry but if I can't eat it there, what makes ya think I can eat it anywhere else? So I sent it back! Waste of $12. And when he was ready to walk away my fiancé mentioned that our son didn't get his fries or fruit that was supposed to come with his meal. About 10-15 minutes later he finally got it.
We spent about $70 tonight on this place. I assure u, I won't ever order another meal here!!!! The first time we did, the food was good but took just over an hour for my fiancé to get his order and now this! The 2 movies were good but as for the service on food.... They are slow, food is expensive, and depending on what u order it may or may not taste good. The southwest chicken bowl had a spoiled taste to it, plus I kept trying to see the beans and rice that's supposed to be in it didn't see anything but chicken, lettuce and cheese. For the price u pay for food here, you can eat out at a nice restaurant!!!
I must also add, when ordering food according to Logan there was only 3 drink options. I believe it was sprite, coke...
Read moreJust went to see Underworld: Blood Wars at this theater and I will not go back. Worst experience at a theater i have ever had, and my husband and I are extreme movie goers. 1-Was told at Seth child's 12 that we could upgrade the popcorn bucket at the new theater, when we got there they said that they were not doing that, which feels like there were lying to us. 2- was informed that they don't do military discount on matinee, while Seth Child's 12 does military discount for every showing to support the troops. 3- yes we got in the theater early cause we wanted great seats, but was rudely told " that we could wait outside till they were done cleaning the theater", there was no need for her to say it that way or in that tone!!! 4- 10 minutes past when the movie should have started NOTHING! No Previews No screen on. 20 minutes in still nothing, I had to get up to ask them to turn on the movie, they had no idea that it was not playing!! For another 5 minutes to go by for them to get the movie started, not sure why it took so long. And then sit through all the regular commercials even before the movie would begin, that took another 15 minutes. So finally at 3:50 the movie began!!!! UNBELIEVABLE. The movie was outstanding and I encourage others to go...but not to this theater. I buy the ticket to have a good time and enjoy my movie, not make sure people are doing their job!!!
"Update" went again after the buyout from AMC to the dine-in area to see Wonder Woman. An improvement for sure, the staff was very nice and the seats are roomy and comfortable with a table. I think they need a new system for buying the food. The food is expensive but i must say very good!! Please make sure to pay for your meals so the servers do not get stuck with the bill. There are still improvements with training needed and having enough staff. But we plan to go for the movies we want to see in dramatic...
