Steve's Floral — Attraction in Manhattan

I agree with another reviewer who stated that you must be the right type of person to get good service here. I don't want to go so far as to say that maybe race is a factor in that, but I've never had a friend of color tell us good things about doing business with this establishment. Nevertheless, since it was near the mall and we were out shopping, we decided to give Steve's Floral a try. The coldness we received from the woman who 'helped' us should have been the first indication, but we continued and made an order to be delivered to mom at her job (where she usually is). We also ordered a week in advance since it was for a major holiday that keeps florists busy. Well, the bouquet was delivered to her home instead- even after we ASKED repeatedly before paying for the flowers if it would be delivered to her JOB, if we were giving enough notice. Not a big deal unless you consider that her white coworker (whose husband went in on the same day- at a later time- and ordered a similar bouquet for his wife) received her flowers on the morning of the holiday! Flowers ordered on the SAME day, going to the SAME place, and the only difference was the skin color of the two families involved. So I guess we know now where NOT to show our face looking for flowers. Will stick with Dillion's or HyVee from now on. Side note: It's funny how people in this town want to encourage everyone to shop small businesses and keep the money local, yet this has been my experience with a lot of the small businesses in this town. Let me tell you this florist did not disappoint! We have friends in Manhattan and I will be using this florist anytime I need to send flowers. The arrangement was gorgeous!!!

They will also send you a text message letting you know the flowers are about to be delivered and provide a picture of the floral arrangement! After that....you get a final text stating the flowers were delivered and they Thank You for supporting small businesses. Love that!!

I was so happy with our wedding flowers from Steve's Floral! Jan was a pleasure to work with. She was helpful and on top of it from beginning to end. I was planning the wedding from a different state so we e-mailed back and forth discussing what I wanted and how to fit it into our budget and she was very accommodating and quick getting back to me. She took my ideas and inspiration photos and came up with awesome arrangements that she went over very thoroughly when I finally met with her in person, then she made sure to send photos when the flowers started coming in, made adjustments along the way, had a beautiful bouquet put together for the final look when I went in with my bridesmaids, and delivered and set up the flowers flawlessly on wedding day.
